The Adventures of Billy & Sleeping Beauty runs at St Mel's College, Longford from December 19 - 31 (Dec 19 - 22 6.30pm; Dec 23 Matinee 1.30pm; Dec 27 - 29 6.30pm; Dec 30 Matinee 1.30pm & 6.30pm; Dec 31 Matinee 1.30pm)
Tickets: Opening Night €18.50 + booking fee; Standard Ticket €22 + booking fee; Matinee Shows Family Ticket (2+2) €79 + booking fee

CHRISTMAS DAY
Monday, December 25
11am / 12 noon: Longford MS Christmas Day Run/Walk (approximately 11km). Walkers start at 11.45am and runners start at 12.15pm from The Hill, Newtowncashel.Refreshments for participants and their families in St Mary’s Hall in Lanesboro after the race.

11.45am: Lanesboro (following 11.15am Mass). Christmas Day Swim. Hardy souls from all over the area come along and take part.

12 noon: Connolly Barracks, Longford: GOAL Mile - Route is one mile round the streets of Longford town.

ST STEPHEN’S DAY
Tuesday, December 26
10am: Ballymahon AFC are hosting a 7 aside adult charity tournament in aid of the Ballymahon Defibrillator Group

11am: Derrycassan Woods: Mullinalaghta St Columba’s GFC are organising a fundraising walk with all money raised to be divided between Yanna’s Four Leaf Clover and the Lus na
Gréine Family Resource Centre, Granard

11am: Michael Fay Park: Longford Slashers hosting a Mens v Ladies friendly football game. The hurlers will also have an exhibition game at the same time.

12 noon: Aughnacliffe: Colmcille GFC ‘Charity Walk and Talk’ event in aid of Yanns’s Four Leaf Clover and the new ASD unit in Colmcille NS. The walk will take in the new Heritage walk, Leebeen Park and Pulliness Waterfall. There will be a 3Km and a 6Km route. Walk commences at 12 noon from the Community Centre. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

12.30pm: Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva: Arva Trotters present the Turkey Trot 2023 - 10k and 7k routes in the wonderful Arva area to help work off the Christmas Dinner! All funds raised will go to Down Syndrome Ireland - Cavan Branch. Refreshments served afterwards in the Hotel.

1pm: Newtownforbes: Shane Brennan 5K. Runners must enter online at www.coretiming.ie, also see Facebook page. The runners start at 1pm. Walkers are invited to make their donation and start walking well in advance of the runners. Special treats for the children. All proceeds go to DePaul.

1.30pm: Latin School, Moyne: Dromard Area Men’s Shed Annual St Stephen’s Day Walk Jog, Run. Proceeds to St Christopher's Services Longford. Refreshments afterwards.
8.30pm: The Castle Inn, Newtownforbes: Clonguish Hurlers Christmas Quiz. There will be live music from Seán Hussey, the usual craic from the hurlers and a raffle

Friday, December 29
6pm (registration 5pm): Streete Parish Park: Annual Fairy Light Tractor Run. We ask tractor and truck owners to spread the word. For more information contact Kevin on 087 1375222.

Saturday, December 30
The Mall, Longford: Longford Hurling Family 5K Run/Walk in aid of Mullingar Paediatric Unit

1pm: Ardagh Challenge: GAA Club Teams invited to enter the "GAA Club 5K". A minimum of 4 team members, open to both playing and non-playing members of any GAA football / hurling / camogie club is required to make up a team. There is no limit on the number of team members. The 4 best placed finishers win points for their club team. Cash prizes and 2023 Ardagh Challenge club team trophy for both 1st placed Mens and Ladies teams. Open to over 16s only.
