Longford gardaí investigate as man injured after being allegedly struck by vehicle

Gardaí are appealing to the public for information in relation to an incident which occurred on the N4 on the outskirts of Longford town, on Monday, December 11.

A male (aged in his 50s) was walking in the vicinity of Minard and Knockmartin on the eastbound lane of the N4 between 8.45am and 9.00am.

It is believed he was struck by a vehicle during this time.

He has since received treatment at Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar.

Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them.

Any person who was travelling on the N4 (Longford to Newtownforbes) on the morning of Monday, December 11 between 8.30am and 9.15am and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with information which may assist Gardaí in their inquiries, is asked to contact Longford Garda Station on 043 335 0570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
