People are being urged to shop local this Christmas and support our local businesses in Longford, Ballymahon, Granard, Lanesboro, Edgeworthstown, Drumlish and across the county, both in-store and online. The Longford Leader / Longford Live team has been out and about calling to local businesses across the county, including Ballymahon, in the busy run-up to Christmas.

The message we are helping to share is ‘Shop Local, Eat Local, Spend Local, Enjoy Local' this Christmas. It’s hugely important to try and keep money in the local economy, to the benefit of all! Launching the #ElfInLongford and #ShopLongford campaigns, Michael Nevin, Head of Enterprise at LEO Longford, said, "Shopping local has several benefits – by choosing local shops this Christmas, you’re protecting and providing local jobs, and keeping your local town or village vibrant. These local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities and deserve our support, not only at Christmas time, but all year round."
