Planning permission extended for Longford solar farm

Former Atlantic Mills factory in Longford purchased in €5m deal

The site of the former Atlantic Mills factory in Clondra, Co Longford

Longford County Council planners have consented to extend planning permission for a solar farm on a site within the property of the former Atlantic Mills factory.


Mashup PLC made the application to extend the duration of the planning approval for a development of a solar farm with an export capacity of around 4MW.


It will consist of photovoltaic panels on ground mounted frames, with associated infrastructure.
The renewal planning application was submitted last September.


In August 2018 Longford County Council granted the original permission to the venture, subject to 17 conditions.
