Longford Fundraiser: Top of the Pops extravaganza for three nights in Drumlish

Drumlish Community Association fundraising committee is hosting a Top of the Pops extravaganza at Drumlish Community Centre on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 16, 17 & 18.

Tickets are on sale on Eventbrite, from local shops and committee members and various supporting group members, priced €20.

For people or businesses who would like to make a donation, this can be done on Drumlish Community Centre Go Fund Me page.

Drumlish Community Centre opened its doors in 1988 and has provided facilities for the local community and beyond for 35 years.

Drumlish Community Association Clg (DCA) is the company which oversees the running, maintenance and development of Drumlish Community Centre and Drumlish Astroturf Facility.

Some of the activities which take place regularly are Keep Fit, Spinning, Badminton, Karate, Music, Handball, Basketball, Indoor Football, Zumba, Girl Guides, Hip Hop Dancing, Foroige, Irish Dancing, Chess, Computer Coding and Pickleball.

Recently through the hard work of its board and committee, a refurbishment plan has been developed to bring the centre up to modern standards and requirements.

Funding for Phase 1 was secured through Leader funding from Longford Community Resources Limited (LCRL) and this has now been completed.

This features a new electrical supply, new heaters in the main hall and replacement of the old permanent stage with a large storage area.

New Funding, through the Community Centres Invest Fund (CCIF), has been secured for Phase 2. This will consist of three multi-purpose meeting and activity rooms upstairs serviced by a lift. Also two fire escapes will be installed at the front and rear of the building.

It’s certainly exciting times around Drumlish Community Centre. However, with every development phase taken on there are costs and expenditures which are not covered by grant funding. Examples of these are, pre-planning and planning costs, match funding (grant funding is never 100%), unforeseen extras etc.

Therefore, DCA is seeking to raise funds in order to continue with the ambitious refurbishment of this great community facility.
The target is €60,000 and every single bit of support is very welcome.

DCA fundraising committee is hosting a Top of the Pops extravaganza at Drumlish Community Centre on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 16, 17 & 18.

Thursday, November 16 features a very special Mini Top of the Pops with the wonderful children and staff of St Mary’s NS Drumlish providing the acts for the night.

Then it's on to Friday and Saturday, November 17 & 18 as a multitude of acts from near and far take to the stage for nights of song and dance not to be missed.

A reminder that tickets are on sale on Eventbrite, from local shops and committee members and various supporting group members, priced €20.

For people or businesses who would like to make a donation, this can be done on Drumlish Community Centre Go Fund Me page.

Drumlish Community Centre is for everybody and they look forward to the support of the people of the community and beyond to help us in our fundraising efforts.
