Yanna Hartin and her family celebrating Gowna's success in the Cavan senior football championship

Dromard Ladies football club hosting Coffee and Cake Morning: As many of you will have heard, a near neighbour of ours, Yanna Hartin was involved in a bad traffic accident on her way to work a couple of weeks back.

Yanna had just finished her Leaving Cert at Cnoc Mhuire, Granard and was considering her next steps in life when tragedy struck.

She is a member of Gowna LGFA and many of our senior panel would know her from our challenge matches with them in the build up to our own Championship season, not forgetting our club secretary Sharon, who herself is a proud Gowna girl.

Her home community have set up 'Yanna's Four-Leaf Clover (Love Luck Hope Faith)' fundraiser to raise money towards her necessary adapted accommodation and travel needs plus her ongoing medical treatment, physio and future care support.

To that end Dromard Ladies will be holding a coffee and cake morning on Sunday, November 5 in the clubhouse after mass at 11 45am, with all proceeds and donations going to Yanna's fundraiser.

We hope to see as many people there as possible to sample our girl's baking skills and enjoy a coffee and a chat.

If you are unable to be there but would still like to contribute you can go to Dromard Ladies Facebook page where you will find an informative poster and a link to follow to do just that.

And if that doesn't inspire you go to Gowna GAA Facebook page where you will find the loveliest of photos of Yanna holding the Oliver Plunkett Cup just won in Breffni Park and brought to her to hold by her clubman and captain Ryan McGahern.

She may not play for our club but she is still one of our own in Ladies Football. Please support if you can.
