An evofit of the man gardaí are hunting over an alleged violent assault on a woman in Longford last month
This is the man gardaí are hunting in connection to an alleged violent assault on a woman in Longford town seven weeks ago.
As first revealed by the Leader at the time of the incident on August 7 last, a woman in her fifties sustained serious but non life threatening injuries after she was allegedly attacked while walking in The Mall.
The alleged incident took place at around 2:30am when the victim was suddenly confronted by a male suspect who punched her a number of times.
She was later taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar for treatment.
Gardaí, in a bid to further their investigation, have released an image of man they believe carried out the attack.
He is described as being in his early 30s and around 5’6 to 5’7 in height. Detectives also believe the man is of broad or heavy build with a square face.
He is also described as having short dark hair with a receding hairline while also being clean shaven with a dark, sallow complexion.
Gardaí are urging anyone who may recognise this man to contact Longford Garda Station at (043) 3350570.
