Longford town's Main Street
An investigation is underway after a man in his 20s was assaulted in Longford town on Saturday morning.
The Leader understands the alleged victim, who is from Longford town, was attacked as he approached the Garvey's Yard area of the county town after midnight.
It's understood the victim, though shook up by the ordeal, was not seriously injured.
"Gardaí are making enquiries into an alleged assault that occurred on the Main Street in Longford in the early hours of Saturday morning, 9th September 2023," a garda spokesperson confirmed.
"No arrests have been made and no serious injuries have been reported."
