Emergency services at scene of Longford road collision

Emergency services attended the scene of a Longford road traffic collision earlier today (Saturday, August 19). 

Gardaí, ambulance crew and fire service personnel responded to the single-vehicle crash on the N55 between Ballymahon and Edgeworthstown. 

It is understood that the incident occurred at approximately mid day and there are no reports of injuries. 

Traffic, to and from Ballymahon, was diverted via Barry for a time, however, the road is now open.

The Garda press office released a statement this afternoon;

"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a single-vehicle road traffic collision which occurred on the N55 near Ballymahon, Co Longford today, Saturday 19th August 2023.

"The incident occurred at approximately 12pm. There are no reports of injuries. The road is open."
