The proprietors of J.R Mahon's: Rob and John Mahon Jnr
There was great excitement at the recent grand opening of J.R Mahon's at 1-2 Burgh Quay, Dublin. The iconic building, located in the heart of the city, has a rich history dating back to the 19th century, when it was first built with iconic views of O’Connell Bridge and the river Liffey.
Now, under the care of brothers Robert and John Mahon the building has been transformed into a modern pub, while still maintaining its historic Victorian charm. Inside, you'll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with comfortable seating and a menu of classic pub fare and signature cocktails.
The Mahon family, who are behind the new pub, have a long history in the hospitality industry. Their most famous establishment started by their father John Mahon is the Pig 'n' Whistle, a group of pubs in New York City that have been serving customers since the 1960s as well as Kennedy’s on Dublin’s Westland row. With the opening of J.R Mahon's in Dublin, the family is excited to expand their expertise and passion for hospitality in Ireland.
"We are thrilled to be opening our newest location in such an iconic building," says John Mahon, owner of J.R Mahon's. "We have put a lot of love and care into restoring the space, and we can't wait for our customers to experience it for themselves."
This new addition to the Dublin pub scene promises to be a unique experience for locals and visitors alike. The new JR Mahon's pub features a menu of classic Irish pub fare, craft beers, and signature cocktails. The space has been designed to be warm and inviting, with plenty of nods to the original pub's history.
J.R Mahon's will be open seven days a week, serving lunch, dinner, and drinks. With the capacity to host events for over 350 people over four floors each with their own unique styled bar, it’s perfect for corporate gatherings. Whether you're looking for a spot to grab a pint after work, a place to watch the game with friends, or some traditional Irish music, JR Mahon's has something for everyone.
"We are thrilled to be opening JR Mahon's in the heart of Dublin," said Robert Mahon. "We wanted to create a space that pays tribute to our family's history while also providing a welcoming atmosphere where everyone can come together to enjoy good food, great drinks, and even better company."
J.R Mahon's is now open and ready to welcome guests. The pub is located at 1-2 Burgh Quay in the heart of Dublin.
