This Saturday, June 17 will see local pianists of all levels and abilities come together to perform their pieces in Longford's inaugural Camlin Keys Piano Festival competition classes and then the winners will perform in the evening concert, together with other popular local performers.
The range of music will not just be classical, but sing-a-long, Irish, traditional and modern pieces.
The Camlin Keys Piano Festival Workshops still have a few spaces in, of particular interest might be the Performance & Exam Anxiety Workshop at 10am with Tamara Niekludow.
Tamara will be offering advice, techniques and insight into the pressures of performance and exam situations. Maybe a start to the day for the Community Games entrants or even for last minute LC exams!
Music with Dee Dee, also starting at 10am. An hour of early years music, fun and laughter with Dee-Dee Hickey, this is a popular class so don’t miss out, be sure to book your spot through the website. Space is limited and once people have booked we can possibly run a second workshop if numbers are high.
Never too old: If you are a beginner or returning to the piano, chat with Joanna about playing the piano at any age.
Please note – all workshops must be booked and paid for in advance through our website, www.camlinkeys.ie.
The Camlin Keys Piano Festival Competition/Classes kick off at 11am in St John’s NS. Our outlook is very much that the festival be an opportunity to perform and show off you pieces, rather than be a competitive activity. The focus is very much on playing the pieces for each other.
Evening Grand Concert – for the Camlin Keys Piano Festival we are installing a grand piano in St John’s Church. Join us for the evening concert where we will be having winners of the piano classes and the Community Games winning Ballad Group will be opening the evening for us. We will also experience performances by the various ensembles who have participated in the workshops. There will also be performances by professional pianist who have a wide-ranging repertoire – something for everyone!
Tickets available on Eventbrite.
The Camlin Keys Piano Festival promises a day filled with inspiration, learning, and musical camaraderie. Whether you are a young beginner, an aspiring performer, a curious enthusiast, or an adult embarking on a new musical journey, this festival offers a diverse range of workshops to cater to your interests. Immerse yourself in the magic of piano music and let the Camlin Keys Piano Festival be your gateway to a world of melodies and possibilities.
We encourage all budding pianists to have a go and make the most of the opportunity to show-off how much work has gone into your pieces.
