Kevin Mulligan and JJ Matthews
Former Mullinalaghta and Longford GAA county players JJ Matthews and Kevin Mulligan have launched a new business venture in New York.
The lads launched a new cocktail bar in the East Village and appropriately enough they have called it “The Laurels” which is also the name of their home GAA club grounds in Mullinalaghta.
The bar is located at 231 2nd Avenue, at the corner of East 14th Street, and is described as a “cosy cocktail bar with Contemporary American cuisine” offering a “raw bar” (which I’m told involves oysters and other types of shellfish), brunch, a happy hour and late-night opening as well as a wide range of cocktails and beers on tap.
North Longford GAA club plan 'game-changing' expansion of home grounds
A north Longford GAA club has lodged ambitious plans to undertake a major expansion of its home grounds.
Both JJ and Kevin have considerable experience in the licensed trade in the Big Apple over the last few years and undoubtedly have the skills to make a success of this new venture, which will be an unmissable pitstop for any Longford or Cavan visitors to NYC.
