An action packed itinerary is in store for the upcoming Battle of Ballinamuck Commemoration

Preparations are well underway for the 225th commemoration of the Battle of Ballinamuck in what promises to be one of the biggest and most hotly anticipated cultural events this county has seen in decades.

Organisers from the 1798 commemoration committee have been carefully assembling a comprehensive programme of events to mark what is readily viewed as the biggest event in the history of the wider Drumlish/Ballinamuck area.

The four day festival lasts from Thursday September 7 to Sunday September 10 with a feast of historical, cultural and fun filled attractions already pencilled in.

For more and further details of upcoming festivities linked to this year's commemoration, follow the event on its own Facebook page and the Leader over the coming weeks.
