Invitation to play the concert grand piano at Longford's Camlin Keys Piano Festival

To round off our first Camlin Keys Piano Festival on Saturday, June 17, we are delighted to announce our “Grand Concert Finale” to the close the day.
The festival will see the installation of a fabulous grand piano in St John's Church on the Battery Road in Longford town, a venue with some of the best acoustics in the area. We are inviting all pianists from Grade VI upwards to participate in the concert and play on the grand piano for the closing event. The concert will showcase performances from the day's ensemble workshops, allowing participants to demonstrate their newfound skills and share their passion for music with a captivated audience.
Winners will also get the opportunity to celebrate their talent, performing as part of the concert, with the evening being opened by the winning Ballad groups from the Longford Community Games talent competition. Tickets available on Eventbrite.
The latest workshop announcement, Performance and Exam Anxiety. Camlin Keys is delighted that renowned pianist and composer, Tamara Niekludow, will be visiting Longford.
Tamara, regular RIAM exam piece contributor, is coming to Longford to judge our competition classes as well as deliver this workshop. Delve into techniques to manage performance anxiety, build confidence, and develop effective practice strategies, issues that resonate with many aspiring pianists, particularly returning to in person exam situations.
The Piano Duets and Ensembles workshop offers an opportunity for pianists to explore the joys of collaborative music-making. Attendees engage in duets and small ensemble performances, honing their listening skills, synchronization, and ensemble communication. Led by Andrew Yau, this workshop will foster a sense of camaraderie and artistic expression among participants.
Other workshops include, Basic Improvisation with Ukrainian National Oleg, Early Years fun in Music with Dee-Dee; You’re never too old to start - whether a beginner or returning to the piano after a hiatus, embrace the joy of playing the piano at any age.; STEM Piano – a bit of mixing music and science as we find out what we can make pianos with.
