Longford garda station
Two men in their fifties have been arrested after in the region of €20,000 of cannabis was seized in Longford town, the Leader can exclusively reveal.
The seizure was made by gardaí in the Ardnacassa area of Longford on Tuesday during what this newspaper understands was a planned operation targeting the sale and distribution of illegal drugs.
An undisclosed sum of cash was also seized during the search.
Both men, who are from Longford, were taken to Longford garda station for questioning before later being released without charge.
A file will now be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to determine the next course of the investigation.
