Longford planners give green light to new pouch plant extension at C&D Foods in Edgeworthstown

C&D Foods Group have been granted planning permission by Longford County Council planners for the proposed construction of a new pouch plant extension at their Edgeworthstown facility. 

Based at Tinnynarr, Longford Road, Edgeworthstown, C&D's application was granted with eight conditions attached. 

The development entails;

1. Proposed demolition of existing softcan building (1517m2) which consists of a single storey pitched roof production facility.

2. Proposed demolition of existing standalone toilet block (19m2) pitched roof building.

3. Proposed construction of new pouch plant extension consisting of new ground floor production facilities 1439m2 connected to existing production floor area and new first floor extension 347m2 connected to existing first floor area. Total production floor area proposed = 1786m2.

4. Proposed construction of two number standalone flat roof electrical switch room buildings (28m2 + 14m2).

5. Realignment of access road around new extension.

6. Proposed construction of new parking areas including provision of carparking bays, electrical vehicle charging facilities and designated accessible parking bays together with new bicycle storage facility.

7. New 1.8m high boundary fence along western site boundary including gates and enclosure to new yard area in front of new extension.

8. Diversion of existing underground and over ground services including provision of new pipe rack to support overhead process pipework above new access road.

9. Provision of new underground services necessary connected to existing services within the site together with all associated site works
