UPDATE | Longford gardaí appeal for dash-cam footage as three hospitalised following two vehicle crash

Three females were hospitalised following a two vehicle Longford crash which occurred in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí and emergency services went to the scene of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles that occurred at approximately 3am on Sunday, April 9, 2023 on the Lanesboro Road near Ballymahon.

A Garda spokesperson stated, "The female driver of one of the vehicles involved was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for treatment of serious injuries.

"Two female passengers in the same vehicle were taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore with non-life threatening injuries."

The road was closed with local diversions in place and Forensic Collision Investigators visited the crash scene this morning.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

The spokesperson said, "Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Lanesboro Road near Ballymahon between 2:45am and 3:30am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Longford Garda Station on 043 3350570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
