PICTURES | A great day out at Longford novice ploughing match in Granard

Longford Ploughing Association held a novice ploughing match on Saturday, March 18 last at Robinstown, Granard, on stubble ground kindly provided by Luke Bogue.

Despite heavy rain in the hours leading up to the event, there was a great turnout of tutors and pupils. READ MORE BELOW PHOTO

Ground conditions at the start were a little sloppy as six novices lined up to plough. Thankfully the ground dried incredibly as the afternoon progressed.

Thanks to Tommie Masterson from Carrigallen, Co Leitrim for supervising proceedings on behalf of the NPA and judging the plots.
Result: 1st Niall Tully, 2nd Ella Casey, 3rd Shane Walshe.
