Laura Gilmore Anderson with her beloved dog, Chip
Laura Gilmore Anderson's heartbreaking plight has prompted the latest major fundraising initiative to help the Longford woman in her ongoing fight for survival.
Murph's Bar in Longford town will be the venue for the fittingly named 'Home Fundraiser' on March 31.
All proceeds will go towards Laura's gofundme fundraising drive which is being held with the aim of enabling the proud daughter of Brendan and Anne, travel to Mexico for vital immunotherapy treatment.
A super raffle will be held on the night, among which will include a whole host of sponsored prizes.
Some of those include two tickets to the men's and ladies GAA county finals in Longford alongside a meal for two in both Take 2 and Vocella's restaurants respectively.
“What we are asking is if people could either make a donation on the GoFundMe page - https://gofund.me/9792e103 or buy raffle tickets in advance,” said organiser Annie Carr.
“Tickets are on sale behind the bar in Murph's/Kane's Bar together with a list of the prizes to be won.
“Laura still needs more funds to enable her travel to Germany for some immediate treatment to try and shrink the tumours in her liver, stomach, pelvis and pancreas which will enable her travel to Mexico for immunotherapy treatment there.
Like every young married couple, Laura and her husband Paul have dreams for the future but unfortunately their future is not how they imagined it would be. They have a difficult road ahead of them and they need us all to help them on their journey.
“Please come along on the night and support the raffle.” In the aftermath of the raffle, a DJ will be in situ from 9pm until late in what promises to be an evening not to be missed.
