Open day on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 to mark Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board’s (LWETB) tenth anniversary #ETBDAY
Longford’s College of Further Education is the place to be next Wednesday, March 1, 2023 as it hosts a special open day to mark Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board’s (LWETB) tenth anniversary.
The long established and well respected educational facility is holding the occasion on its campus at Connolly Barracks in Longford with a view to showcasing both its state of the art facilities as well as a comprehensive range of courses.
Live entertainment courtesy of the hugely popular Galaxy Band will be on offer from 1-2pm, while a whole host of top prizes have been lined up over the course of the day.
The Longford College of Further Education is a PLC provision within Templemichael College based on the Connolly Barracks Campus.
Longford College of Further Education offers a diverse range of post leaving certificate (PLC) courses.
From the Schools of Business and Tourism, Beauty Therapy, Nursing and Healthcare, Software Development, Applied Social Studies and Engineering.
Applicants looking to pursue a course with the Longford College of Further Education may also apply to the Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) grant scheme subject to certain criteria.
Maire Greene Casey, PLC coordinator with the Longford College of Further Education explained that under the educational facilities, Applied Social Studies banner, the establishment is linked to St Angela’s College in Sligo.
Those studying Applied Social Studies have an opportunity to progress to St Angela’s Teacher Education Programme.
This entry route is specifically for students from socio economic groups that are underrepresented in higher education and are undertaking a QQI set qualification in a further education college such as the Longford College of Further Education.
