Sinn Féin’s spectacular vote management was very much in evidence as Deputy Clarke received 2,353 transfers from the distribution of her running mate, Barry Campion’s 2,987 votes

Sinn Féin’s Sorca Clarke, the poll topper in the 2020 General Election, has retained her Dáil seat in Longford Westmeath as she surpassed the quota on Count 13. 

Sinn Féin’s spectacular vote management was very much in evidence as Deputy Clarke received 2,353 transfers from the distribution of her running mate, Barry Campion’s 2,987 votes.

Deputy Clarke with 10,878 votes surpassed the quota (10,315) with 563 votes to spare and her surplus will be distributed during Count 14.

There are five candidates still standing and three seats to be filled

Kevin 'Boxer' Moran, Independent (+91) 10,255

Robert Troy, Fianna Fáil (+52) 9,490

Micheál Carrigy, Fine Gael (+158) 8,838

Joe Flaherty, Fianna Fáil (+89) 6,301

Paul Hogan, Independent Ireland (+89) 4,305

Boxer Moran is now just 60 votes shy of the 10,315 quota and he is the only candidate that can be elected on Count 14. 

Robert Troy is 825 votes shy of the quota.
