Longford U-14 girls put in an excellent performance to claim the Ladies Football Leinster ‘C’ Championship title on Friday evening in a fantastic final against Wicklow in Kinnegad.

Longford . . . 2-13      Wicklow . . . 3-2

Longford dominated the majority of the game but two goals late in the first half and one midway through the second half kept Wicklow in the game. Longford, who led by 0-10 to 2-1 at half-time, sealed the deserved win with late points.

The whole team plus substitutes played their part in this win but one player that stood out right from the start was Clonguish’s Ella Duggan who was rightfully named player of the match. The wing-back was just immense.
