2015 Longford Senior Football Championship Round 1 Draw

The draw for Round 1 of the 2015 Longford Senior Football Championship was made at the County Board meeting in Aras Ui Bhriain, Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Tuesday night and the most intriguing game is the clash of the 2013 champions Longford Slashers and the 2014 beaten finalists Mullinalaghta St Columba’s with Denis Connerton and Gerry Lynn back in charge of the respective teams.

There will also be a lot of interest in the local derby between Dromard and Fr Manning Gaels while St Mary’s Granard, with Niall Sheridan back as manager, will face the Paul Barden powered Clonguish.

The title holders Killoe, under the guidance of new manager Declan Rowley, will take on Mostrim in Round 1 and Emmet Og are considered the strong favourites to retain the Connolly Cup.

In the other first round ties Abbeylara will meet Ballymahon while last year’s Intermediate champions Carrickedmond confront Colmcille.

Killoe Emmet Og v Mostrim
