Longford GAA: Granard native Mickey Harkin the new Mullinalaghta St Columba's manager

The new Mullinalaghta manager Mickey Harkin was a defender of some distinction during his football career with his native club St Mary’s Granard and Longford and gradually developed into a very shrewd coach.

Harkin guided Abbeylara to win the 2006 senior football championship title and who repeated the fine feat when Colmcille captured the Connolly Cup in 2022 in a dramatic finish in the final against St Columba’s.

A serious driving force, Mickey is now in charge of vastly experienced Mullinalaghta and it remains to be seen if the historic 2018 Leinster club champions can make an impact in the battle for the coveted county title in 2026!
