Longford have been drawn to play neighbouring rivals Westmeath in the opening round of the 2026 Leinster Senior Football Championship in April with the winners advancing to take on Meath in the quarter-finals.
In the same half of a very tough draw are Kildare, Offaly and Laois - venues to be confirmed.The complete draw is as follows:

In his second season in charge of Longford, Mike Solan’s side will ironically kick-off the new season at home to Westmeath in the returned O’Byrne Cup on Saturday January 3 in the build up to the opening game in Division 4 of the National League away to Waterford at the end of January.
