Abbeylara clubman Donal Ledwith is back for a second stint as the manager of the Longford U-20 football squad and will be working alongside other former county players Paddy Collum (Fr Manning Gaels) and ace attacker Sean McCormack (Killoe).
The other members of the U-20 management team for the 2026 Leinster Championship campaign are Fintan Fox (Sean Connolly’s) and Cavan native Jimmy Higgins, the shrewd coach who guided Killoe to Senior Championship glory this year with former Longford defender Ledwith also involved in the successful Emmet Og mentors partnership.
Regular Longford senior goalkeeper Collum announced his retirement in the aftermath of the win over Carlow in the Tailteann Cup this season in a stellar career that spanned a period of 14 years.
