Rathcline made amends for three final heartbreaks by capturing the Longford Ladies Football Junior B title on Saturday at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

Rathcline . . . 4-6   Clonguish . . . 2-5

The Lanesboro girls had too much in the tank for the Clonguish second team on the day.

Three goals from Emma Feeney helped them on the way to a success which was greeted by joyous scenes.

Feeney, who finished with 3-2, was a deserving winner of Player of the Match award.

However, it was a good team effort overall from James Hanley’s side.

Clonguish were competitive in the first half and at half-time, Rathcline held a 2-3 to 1-2 advantage.

However, in the second half, Colly Clarke’s side could only manage 1-3, with Rathcline adding another couple of goals and increasing their control of the game.
