A group of local Longford women are preparing for the trip of a lifetime as the Killoe/Ballinalee Gaelic4Mothers&Others (G4M&0) team gets ready to represent their clubs and county in New York this October.

The ladies will take part in the highly anticipated GAA Blitz, showcasing their passion for Gaelic football on an international stage.

The G4M&O initiative, supported by the LGFA, encourages women to participate in Gaelic games regardless of age or experience level, fostering community, fitness and fun.

For the Killoe/Ballinalee team, this transatlantic journey is not just about sport but about celebrating camaraderie, culture and the pride of representing their home in a global event.

As the countdown begins, the team is reaching out to local businesses, community members and supporters near and far for sponsorship and donations to help make this trip possible.

Costs include flights, accommodation and logistical expenses and every contribution will go a long way in helping these dedicated women represent Longford with pride.

Sponsorship is also needed for our jerseys so if you would like to have your business/company promoted on the international scene please get in touch!

“We are beyond excited to be heading to New York,” said one team member. “It’s a dream come true to take part in such a major event and fly the flag for Killoe, Ballinalee and County Longford. But we will need the community’s support to get there.”

To support the team’s journey, donations can be made via the team’s Facebook page, through any club member or by contacting Patricia Smyth directly on 0862230807.

Let’s get behind this inspiring group of women and help them bring a bit of Longford to the Big Apple!
