Longford GAA, at an emergency management committee meeting, made a late decision in the interests of the safety of spectators and players to postpone the Mulleady Group Intermediate Football Final between Fr Manning Gaels and Sean Connolly's and the Peter Hanley Motors Senior Football Final replay between Colmcille and Abbeylara.

The big games were fixed as a double bill at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Sunday last but were called off  due to the dangerous high winds amid the force of Storm Ashley battering the country

The county finals have been rescheduled by the Competitions Control Committee for this Saturday and both matches must be finished on the day, allowing for extra-time and a penalty shoot-out if necessary.

In the Leinster Club Championships the following weekend, the eventual Longford senior champions are away to St Mary’s Ardee (Louth) on Sunday November 3 while the Intermediate title winners take on Crettyard (Laois) on Saturday November 2 at O’Moore Park

Also on the road and facing a long trip down to Wexford on November 2 are the Junior ‘A’ champions Young Grattans for their first round game.
