2024 Longford GAA Championship Draws on Monday night

The draws for the 2024 Longford GAA Championships will be made in Aras Ui Bhriain, Glennon Brothers Pearse Park this Monday night, live on Shannonside Radio starting at around 8.10pm. 

12 clubs will compete for the Peter Hanley Senior Football Championship title with last year’s semi-finalists Killoe Emmet Og, Clonguish, Colmcille and Dromard seeded in the draw.

The other contenders in the battle for the Connolly Cup this year are Longford Slashers, Mullinalaghta St Columba’s, St Mary’s Granard, Rathcline, Abbeylara, Carrickedmond, Mostrim and the 2023 Intermediate champions Kenagh.  

 In sticking with much the same format, the teams will be divided into two groups of six with the top four in each section qualifying for the quarter-finals: 1 v 4 & 2 v 3. 

 The bottom two teams in each group will battle it out in the relegation play-offs with TWO clubs demoted to the 2025 Intermediate Championship.  

 2024 Senior Hurling Championship

Clonguish Gaels, Longford Slashers and Wolfe Tones Mostrim will compete as usual in the group stage (round-robin) for the Duignan Cup with the top two teams qualifying for the 2024 Senior Hurling Championship Final.   

Round 1 on Saturday July 27 

 2024 Mulleady Group Intermediate Football Championship

Ardagh Moydow, Ballymahon, Ballymore, Cashel, Fr Manning Gaels, Sean Connolly’s and St Brigid’s Killashee will play each other in the group stage (round-robin) with the top four teams making it through to the semi-finals in the quest for Hennessy Cup glory.   

The bottom TWO teams in the group stage will be relegated to the 2025 Junior  Championship.

2024 Junior ‘A’ Football Championship 

The two solely Junior clubs in the 2024 Junior ‘A’ Football Championship are Grattan Og and Legan Sarsfields and they will be joined by the second strings from Clonguish, Colmcille, Killoe Emmet Og and Longford Slashers. 

The top four teams in the group stage (round-robin) qualify for the semi-finals.

There are separate Junior ‘B’ and ‘C’ Championships.
