Longford woman Sharyn Ward's got talent!
This week Ireland’s Got Talent goes live! The judges – Jason Byrne, Denise Van Outen, Michele Visage and Louis Walsh, have scoured the length and breadth of the country looking for the best of Irish talent and after 8 weeks of auditions it is now time for 24 semi-finalists to deliver the performance of their lives.
Dublin’s Helix Theatre will play host to two weekends of live shows with the first two semi-finals coming up this weekend Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st March. Just two acts from each semi-final will go straight through to the Grand Final.
Among the acts competing the first live semi-final of the series this Saturday is Longford’s own Sharyn Ward (33), who blew the judges away with her unique singing voice.
The mum of two and proud traveller will stun audiences with her singing performances, which she hopes will change people’s perception of the travelling community.
It was Ireland’s Got Talent presenter, Lucy Kennedy who discovered Sharyn’s amazing voice and encouraged her to audition for the show. Although hesistant at first, the Longford native, now living in Dublin, received a unanimous ‘yes’ from the judges after Louis Walsh asked her to sing her second song, Finbar Furey’s ‘Sweet Sixteen’.
