Longford IFA will host a farm get-together this Friday, June 5, at 7pm on the farm of Chairman John Sheridan at Abbeylands, Firmount, Mostrim, Edgeworthstown.
The event will bring together local farm families as well as showcasing a range of local food producers in a relaxed farm setting.
Invitations have been extended to MEPs from across the region, with newly appointed member of the European Parliament Ciarán Mullooly confirming his attendance following his appointment to the EU Agricultural Committee.
There is also an open invitation to local elected representatives to attend, meet with farming families, and engage with the agricultural community on key issues affecting the sector.
Organisers say the gathering aims to highlight the strength of local farming and food production in County Longford, while providing an opportunity for discussion in an informal setting.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to sample some of the best locally produced food from across the county.
