Cllr Gerry Warnock
Gerry Warnock was elected to Longford County Council in 2014 following three years on Longford Town Council.
Despite facing many challenges in Longford since then, he says he has seen a renewed confidence in the county in terms of tourism, regeneration, employment opportunities through the expansion of existing enterprises and an ability to attract new businesses.
But, says Gerry, new challenges are never far away: “The provision of adequate housing to cater for local needs will be chief amongst these challenges and it is so important to the future development of our county that we get this right.
“My own preference is for the prioritization of Affordable Housing Schemes for households on low to middle incomes.
“We must remain steadfast in our efforts to deal with antisocial elements within our community. These people must not be allowed to drag down the rest of the community through their illegal activities, be that drug dealing or dumping.
“These are but some of the issues that will need consideration over the next council term,” he said.
Gerry is an experienced, passionate councillor with a proven ability to address major issues in the town.

He says he will give “a firm commitment to continue to represent your needs, and the needs of the wider community with the same zeal as I have done over the last eight years”.
