Cllr Mae Sexton

Independent Cllr Mae Sexton is one of the longest serving councillors in Longford.

Married to Tommy with two children, Mae is the daughter of former councillor Tommy Breaden, who served for over three decades. A former student of Scoil Mhuire in Longford, Mae previously served as Cathaoirleach of Longford Municipal District up until June 2018 after a two year term.

Mae has recently undergone a hip replacement, which is why she has not been able to canvass this time around.

“Due to an unavoidable hip replacement, which clearly could not have come at a worse time, I am truly sorry that I may not get to your door personally in time for the elections on May 24th.”

If elected, Mae hopes to help implement some of the many plans she has helped put in place for the regeneration of Longford over the next five years. This includes works at Stonepark, Clondra, Newtownforbes, Melview, Providers, Camlin, the Royal Canal and the Shopping Centre at Market Square.

She stated, “I am hoping that the faith that you have consistently placed in me, coupled with my work, experience and dedication to ensure improvement in the quality of life for all of us who live in Longford, will stand to me when your casting your vote.”
