Dayna Flynn, who is set to take her place in the World Irish Dancing Championships
Dayna Flynn, daughter of Mary and Gavin Flynn from Drumlish, who attends the highly accredited O’Neill Geraghty School of Irish Dance is heading to Greensboro, North Carolina USA this week to compete for the very first time in the World Irish Dancing Championships.
This has been her first opportunity to qualify to compete at the World Championships and amazingly she managed to qualify in her first year.
Dayna said: “I am so excited to compete in the World Championships in America and represent my school and my region, my teachers Tracy O’Neill, Brian Geraghty and Tara Blake are the best. I can’t wait to travel over with my Mammy and Mairéad O’Reilly. I don’t know what I would do without them when I’m competing.”
Dayna has received massive support from her school, St Teresa’s National School, Killoe, especially her teacher Emmet Toher, Master Harte and all the staff and incredible support from Andy Byrne and the staff who held a raffle fundraiser for her on March 30 in his pub in Longford town.
We wish her the very best of luck at the championships.
