Marie Kelly (née Whitney), Thornwood, New York and late of Bracklin, Edgeworthstown, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully surrounded by her loving family following a short illness at Phelps Memorial Hospital Centre in Sleepy Hollow, New York, on Monday, February 14, 2022 of Marie Kelly (née Whitney), Thornwood, New York and late of Bracklin, Edgeworthstown, Longford. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary, her sister Kathleen Heery (Oldcastle) and her brothers Frank and Joe. Marie will be sadly missed by her loving husband Thomas and her daughters Catriona, Caroline and Maureen, sons-in-law Billy and Kaleb, brothers Peter and Paddy, sister Bridie Gilhooley (Tooman, Bornacoola), also survived by her cherished grandchildren Kelli-Anne, Tommy, Liam, Aidan, Whitney and her many nieces and nephews. Rest in peace.
Reposing at Hawthorne Funeral Home, New York, on Friday, February 18 from 4pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 19  in Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, at 10am. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne. The family appreciates your support and consideration at this time.

Michael Farrell, Clonfuigh, Killashee, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully at Sligo University Hospital, on Monday, February 14, 2022 of Michael Farrell, Clonfuigh, Killashee, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Elizabeth, brother Pat and by his beloved wife Brigid. Michael will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughter Teresa Fox, sons Sean and his partner Barbara, Francis and his partner Francesca, son-in-law Michael, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road on Thursday, February 17 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection at 11am on Friday, February 18 in St Patrick’s Church, Killashee, interment afterwards in Killashee Cemetery.

Bridget (Bridie) Flood, Phibsboro, Dublin / Granard, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the wonderful staff of the Sacred Heart Ward, Mater Hospital, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 of Bridget (Bridie) Flood, Phibsboro, Dublin 7, and formerly Granard, Co Longford. Predeceased by her loving partner Paddy and siblings Jack, Mena, Tommy, Elsie, Paud and Joan; sadly missed by her sister-in-law and close friend Mary, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours, as well as the staff and residents of Beneavin Manor Nursing Home. May she Rest in Peace.
Bridie’s funeral cortege will leave her home on Thursday, February 17 at 10.40am to arrive at St Francis Xavier Church, Gardiner Street for 11am Mass, followed by burial in Balgriffin Cemetery Extension. House strictly private please. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to the Capuchin Day Centre, Bow Street.

Thomas Doonan, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim


The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by his family in the care of the staff at the Galway Clinic, on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 of Thomas Doonan, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim.
Will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Terri, his sons Ken, David, Noel and Colin, his Grandchildren Amy, Jack & Jamie, daughters-in -law, brothers, sisters, extended family and friends.
Reposing at Smith's Funeral Home, Ballinamore on Thursday February 17 from 6pm to 8pm. House strictly private. Please adhere to mask wearing, no handshaking and social distancing protocols. Olive Keegan (née McKnight), Moyvore, Westmeath


The death occurred, suddenly and peacefully at her home, on Monday, February 14, 2022 of Olive Keegan (née McKnight), Moyvore, Westmeath. She is predeceased by her mother Marcella, Father James and beloved husband Willie.
Deeply loved and missed by her daughters Celina and Angela and son Bill, her sons-in-law and daughter-in-law, her seven adored Grandchildren Ciara, Cormac, Casey, Kerry, Adam, Conor & Louise, her brothers Con and Jimmy, her sisters Teresa, Maureen, Peggy, Anna and Eileen. Lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. RIP.
Olive will repose at Rooney's Funeral Home, Moate Road, Ballymore, Co Westmeath on Thursday, February 17 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass at 11am on Friday, February 18 in St. Patrick's Church, Moyvore, Co. Westmeath (N91 Pw62) with burial immediately afterwards in Forgney Cemetery. 


John Nally, Irishtown, Ballynacargy, Westmeath
The death occurred, peacefully, in the loving care of his family, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 of John Nally, Irishtown, Ballynacargy, Westmeath. Sadly missed by his wife Margaret, daughters Vonnie, Michelle, Kate. son Bill, and partners, brother Tom, sisters: Kathleen,Teresa and Marie, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.Most grateful thanks to his carers. Christine Brady (née Caulfield), Glasnevin, Dublin / Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon


The death occurred, peacefully in her 96th year in the loving care of the staff of Catherine McCauley Nursing Home, Beaumont, Dublin, on Sunday, February 13, 2022 of Christine Brady (née Caulfield), late of Glasnevin, Dublin, formerly of Fulham, London and Bockagh, Ballaghadereen, Co Roscommon.
Predeceased by her loving husband William (Bill) and her siblings Fr. Padraig, Nancy (Sr. Hilary, Marist Sisters), Joe, Sr. Kathleen (Marist Sisters), Seamus, Teresa and her twin sister Eileen Gallagher. Christine will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law of the Brady family, Ballinalee, neighbours and friends.
Funeral Mass will take place in St Columba’s Church, Iona Road, Glasnevin, Dublin on Thursday, February 17 at 10.30am followed by interment in St Emer’s Cemetery, Ballinalee, Co Longford at 2.30pm approximately. The death occurred, peacefully, at the Beacon Hospital Dublin, on Saturday, February 12, 2022 of Lynda Barnes, Drumroosk, Ballinagh, Cavan and formerly of Dereham, Norfolk, England. Lynda will be sadly missed by her partner Michael Evans, her son Philip (Anne), daughters Joanne (Andy), Maria (Andy) and her adored grandchildren Eloise, Harry, Owen, Jasper, Chloe and Alfie, extended family neighbours and friends.

The death occurred, peacefully, at her home surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 of Claire Rita Fitzpatrick (née Young), San Francisco (USA)  and Loch Gowna, Cavan. Predeceased by her husband William in Ireland in 1980. Sadly missed by her adoring family; Peggy O'Donnell (Dennis), Kathleen Reilly (Eamon), Bill Fitzpatrick (Petra), Helen Dolan (Frank), John Fitzpatrick (Margaret), Timmy Fitzpatrick (Deirdre), Joan Fitzpatrick (Paul), adoring grandmother of 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Sadly missed by her devoted sister-in-law Molly and her many nieces and nephews in both California and Ireland. Rest in Peace.

The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St Patrick’s Hospital, Carrick on Shannon, on Sunday, February 13, 2022 of Bernard (Barney) O’Boy, 9 Slieve View, Mohill, Co Leitrim and formerly of Cattan, Mohill, Co Leitrim.
Predeceased by his wife; Anna, sister; Cissie and brother; Sonny. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by daughter; Ruth, son; Leonard (UK), son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Bernard Rest in Peace.

Beloved husband and best friend of Josie (nee McGowan), predeceased by his son Paul, parents Jim and Sadie, brothers Jim and Tommy and sister Sally, sadly missed by his loving wife, daughter Karen, grandchildren Sadie and Rian, sisters Maureen Durrant and Sandra, brothers Martin and Sean, Karen’s mother Iris, brothers-in-law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, work colleagues in the Bohemian Bar, neighbours extended family and friends. Loved and sadly missed by her adoring parents, Des and Josephine, sisters Gráinne and Niámh, best friend and husband Amhairghean, Godson Oisín, grandmother Maureen and extended Donegan, Quinn and Kennedy family, friends, children and staff at St Peter's National School, Phibsboro and fellow researchers in the school of Education UCD. The death occurred, unexpectedly at Hillingdon Hospital, London, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 of Francis Anthony (Tony) Carolan, formerly of Cloonmacart, Drumlish, Longford.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret. He will be sadly missed by his three children Fiona, Annette, Anthony, his grandchildren Frankie, Christopher, Kerrie, Alfie, Grace, Hannah, great grandchildren, brothers, sister, relatives and many friends. He was loved by many, May he Rest in Peace.
The funeral will be arriving at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hayes, for mass at 12 noon on Friday, February 18. Burial afterwards will be at Kensal Green Cemetery, 2pm.

Kevin Quinn, England / Newtownforbes, Longford
The death occurred, in England, on Monday, January 17, 2022 of Kevin Quinn, England and formerly of Kilnashee, Longford, and 6 Castle Gardens, Newtownforbes, Co Longford.
He is predeceased by his father Henry and brother Conny. Kevin will be forever missed by his family, wife Susan, mother Nan, brothers Michael, Sean and Henry, sisters Elizabeth, Mary and Ann, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends here in Ireland and England. Close to our hearts you will always stay, Loved and remembered every day. Rest in Peace Kevin.
Cremation Service will take place on February 18, 2022 in England. A Memorial Service will take place in St Mary's Church, Newtownforbes, Co Longford, at a later date.
