The death occurred, peacefully at Sligo University Hospital, on Monday, February 14, 2022 of Michael Farrell, Clonfuigh, Killashee, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Elizabeth, brother Pat and by his beloved wife Brigid. Michael will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughter Teresa Fox, sons Sean and his partner Barbara, Francis and his partner Francesca, son-in-law Michael, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road on Thursday, February 17 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection at 11am on Friday, February 18 in St Patrick’s Church, Killashee, interment afterwards in Killashee Cemetery.

Bridget (Bridie) Flood, Phibsboro, Dublin / Granard, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the wonderful staff of the Sacred Heart Ward, Mater Hospital, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 of Bridget (Bridie) Flood, Phibsboro, Dublin 7, and formerly Granard, Co Longford. Predeceased by her loving partner Paddy and siblings Jack, Mena, Tommy, Elsie, Paud and Joan; sadly missed by her sister-in-law and close friend Mary, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours, as well as the staff and residents of Beneavin Manor Nursing Home. May she Rest in Peace.
Bridie’s funeral cortege will leave her home on Thursday, February 17 at 10.40am to arrive at St Francis Xavier Church, Gardiner Street for 11am Mass, followed by burial in Balgriffin Cemetery Extension. House strictly private please. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to the Capuchin Day Centre, Bow Street.

Noel Reilly, Fyhora, Moyne, Co Longford
The death occurred, peacefully, in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Cavan General Hospital, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 of Noel Reilly, Fyhora, Moyne, Co Longford.
Predeceased by his parents Mary Kate and Farrell, brothers Packie and Kevin and sister Elizabeth. Deeply regretted by his brothers, sister, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, good friends and neighbours. May he rest in peace. 
Noel’s Requiem Mass and Burial, will take place privately. House private, please. The family very much appreciates your support and consideration at this time.

Ian Hester, Carrowduff Lower, Four-Mile-House, Roscommon / Lanesboro, Co Longford


The death occurred, suddenly, at his residence at Carrowduff, on Sunday, February 13, 2022 of Ian Hester, Carrowduff Lower, Four-Mile-House, Co Roscommon and Lanesborough, Co Longford.
Predeceased by his parents John and Mary and brother of the recently deceased Michael. Deeply regretted by his sister Sylvia, brothers Eugene and Edmund, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and large circle of friends.
Ian will lie in repose at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon on Wednesday evening, February 16 from 5pm (walk through only please) followed by a funeral service celebrating Ian’s life at 6.30pm which will conclude with some traditional music which was one of Ian’s true loves. A private cremation will then take place at a later date with the interment of ashes afterwards in the family grave in Oran Cemetery.


Bosco Michael Murphy, Drumderg, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford
The death occurred, peacefully in Cavan General Hospital, on Sunday, February 13, 2022 of Bosco Michael Murphy, Drumderg, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford. Bosco is predeceased by his parents Michael and Ann. Bosco will be sadly missed by his cherished daughter Amy, sister Ann, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end, They simply mean we'll miss you, Until we meet again. Rest in Peace.
Reposing will take place in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford, on Tuesday, February 15 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Funeral cortege will arrive at St Joseph's Church, Purth, on Wednesday, February 16 for funeral mass at 11am, followed with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Please remember to wear a face covering, and to practice social distancing.

PJ Conroy, Kilbarry, Tarmonbarry, Co Roscommon, N41 F854 / Tarmonbarry, Co Longford

The death occurred, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, February 14, 2022 of PJ Conroy, Kilbarry, Rooskey, Co Roscommon.
Predeceased by his wife Mary. PJ will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his daughter Marina, son Padraigh, daughter in law Pauline, son in law Dominick, grandaughters Sheena, Ashling and Bernadine, grandsons Dominick and Emmett, Nephews, Nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. The death occurred, peacefully in her 96th year in the loving care of the staff of Catherine McCauley Nursing Home, Beaumont, Dublin, on Sunday, February 13, 2022 of Christine Brady (née Caulfield), late of Glasnevin, Dublin, formerly of Fulham, London and Bockagh, Ballaghadereen, Co Roscommon.
Predeceased by her loving husband William (Bill) and her siblings Fr. Padraig, Nancy (Sr. Hilary, Marist Sisters), Joe, Sr. Kathleen (Marist Sisters), Seamus, Teresa and her twin sister Eileen Gallagher. Christine will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law of the Brady family, Ballinalee, neighbours and friends.
Funeral Mass will take place in St Columba’s Church, Iona Road, Glasnevin, Dublin on Thursday, February 17 at 10.30am followed by interment in St Emer’s Cemetery, Ballinalee, Co Longford at 2.30pm approximately. The death occurred, peacefully, at the Beacon Hospital Dublin, on Saturday, February 12, 2022 of Lynda Barnes, Drumroosk, Ballinagh, Cavan and formerly of Dereham, Norfolk, England. Lynda will be sadly missed by her partner Michael Evans, her son Philip (Anne), daughters Joanne (Andy), Maria (Andy) and her adored grandchildren Eloise, Harry, Owen, Jasper, Chloe and Alfie, extended family neighbours and friends.

The death occurred, peacefully, at her home surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 of Claire Rita Fitzpatrick (née Young), San Francisco (USA)  and Loch Gowna, Cavan. Predeceased by her husband William in Ireland in 1980. Sadly missed by her adoring family; Peggy O'Donnell (Dennis), Kathleen Reilly (Eamon), Bill Fitzpatrick (Petra), Helen Dolan (Frank), John Fitzpatrick (Margaret), Timmy Fitzpatrick (Deirdre), Joan Fitzpatrick (Paul), adoring grandmother of 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Sadly missed by her devoted sister-in-law Molly and her many nieces and nephews in both California and Ireland. Rest in Peace.

Nancy Mullooly (née Kelly), Church Street, Strokestown, Roscommon


The death occurred, peacefully, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, February 13, 2022 of Nancy Mullooly (née Kelly), Church Street, Strokestown, Roscommon. Predeceased by her son Brian.
Beloved wife of Brian and much loved mother of Michael, Mairead, John, Jacinta, Paula, Aine and Eimear. She will be very sadly missed by her loving husband and family, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, her sixteen grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, relatives and friends. Rest In Peace.
Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown, on Tuesday, February 15 from 4pm until 7pm, walk through only. Removal on Wednesday, February 16 to the Parish Church for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery. No flowers please. Donations in lieu of, if desired, to Mayo-Roscommon Hospice, care of Pat McHugh, Funeral Director.

Beloved husband and best friend of Josie (nee McGowan), predeceased by his son Paul, parents Jim and Sadie, brothers Jim and Tommy and sister Sally, sadly missed by his loving wife, daughter Karen, grandchildren Sadie and Rian, sisters Maureen Durrant and Sandra, brothers Martin and Sean, Karen’s mother Iris, brothers-in-law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, work colleagues in the Bohemian Bar, neighbours extended family and friends. The death occurred, unexpectedly at Hillingdon Hospital, London, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 of Francis Anthony (Tony) Carolan, formerly of Cloonmacart, Drumlish, Longford.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret. He will be sadly missed by his three children Fiona, Annette, Anthony, his grandchildren Frankie, Christopher, Kerrie, Alfie, Grace, Hannah, great grandchildren, brothers, sister, relatives and many friends. He was loved by many, May he Rest in Peace.
The funeral will be arriving at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hayes, for mass at 12 noon on Friday, February 18. Burial afterwards will be at Kensal Green Cemetery, 2pm.

The death occurred, in England, on Monday, January 17, 2022 of Kevin Quinn, England and formerly of Kilnashee, Longford, and 6 Castle Gardens, Newtownforbes, Co Longford.
He is predeceased by his father Henry and brother Conny. Kevin will be forever missed by his family, wife Susan, mother Nan, brothers Michael, Sean and Henry, sisters Elizabeth, Mary and Ann, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends here in Ireland and England. Cremation Service will take place on February 18, 2022 in England. A Memorial Service will take place in St Mary's Church, Newtownforbes, Co Longford, at a later date.
