Deaths in Longford - Sunday, April 28, 2019

Thomas (Tommy) Smith, Aughawelia ,Carrigan, Ballinagh, Cavan

The death occurred, suddenly, in Cavan General Hospital, on Friday, April 26 of Thomas (Tommy) Smith, Aughawelia ,Carrigan, Ballinagh, Cavan. Ex Heineken.  Sadly missed by his heartbroken family. His wife Agnes, daughter Eilish (London), sons Brian (Virginia) and Thomas (Malahide).Brothers Peter, Liam, John and Pat. Sisters Mary Keane (Kerry), Marcella Shanaghy (Corlismore), Ann McCourt (Rooskey), Frances Redmond (Swords), Bridget Smith (Aughawelia) and Kathleen Creegan (Cavan). Uncle Phil O'Reilly, (Carrigan). His adored grandchildren Conor and Cathal. Son in law Denis and daughter in law Johanne. Brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours. May He Rest In Peace.
Reposing at his home on Sunday, April 28 from 5pm to 8pm and again on Monday, April 29 from 5pm to 8pm (eircode H12DK27). Removal on Tuesday morning, April 30 to St Mary’s Church, Bruskey for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in Mullaghboy Cemetery. House private at all other times, please.
Family flowers only, donations if desired to the Parkinson’s Society c/o Smith's Funeral Directors or any family member. A shuttle bus will operate from Bruskey Church car park to the wake house.

Jim Phelan, Fore, Castlepollard, Westmeath / Santry, Dublin
The death occurred, following a lengthy illness bravely fought, surrounded in death as he always was in life by his loving family, on Thursday, April 25 of Jim Phelan, Fore, Co Westmeath and formerly Swords Road, Santry, Dublin, retired Detective Garda and publican.  Deeply regretted and missed by his brother Eamon Phelan, sisters Margaret Gaynor, Lena Lynch, Nancy Costello, Jackie Fitzgerald and Mary Fitzsimons, their partners Cormac, Jim, Johnny, Paul, Philip and Esther, his much loved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and a wide circle of friends and colleagues.May Jim Rest In Peace.
Reposing at his home in Fore on Saturday, April 27 from 4pm. Funeral Mass in St Feichin's Church, Fore on Sunday, April 28 at 11.15am. Burial afterwards in St Colmcille's Cemetery, Swords, Co Dublin.

Brendan Prendergast, 12 Hyde Terrace, Mohill, Leitrim
The death occurred, in Aras Carolan Nursing Home, Mohill, on Thursday, April 25 of Brendan Prendergast, 12 Hyde Terrace, Mohill, Leitrim. Sadly missed by his wife May, daughter Jennifer, sons Trevor, Stephen, Michael, Eamonn and his grandchildren.
Reposing at Aras Carolan Nursing Home on Sunday evening, April 28 from 4.30pm until 6.30pm. Removal to St Patrick’s Church, Mohill arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday morning, April 29 at 11am, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please.

Bernadette Humphrey (née Smith), 425 Ballyoran Park, Portadown, Armagh / Newtowngore, Leitrim
The death occurred on Thursday, April 25 of Bernadette Humphrey (nee Smith), 425 Ballyoran Park (Portadown) and formerly of Newtowngore, Co Leitrim. Beloved wife of the late Jim and dearly loved mother of Rosemary, Caroline, Seamus, Ann, Katrina, Bernadette, Michelle and Lorna. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing daughters, son, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law grandchildren, sisters Moira O'Rourke (Newtowngore) and Eileen Bohan (Ballyconnell), nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May Bernadette Rest In Peace.
Reposing at her late residence. Funeral on Monday, April 29 from her late residence at 9.15am to the church of St John The Baptist Drumcree for requiem mass at 10am with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
