Deaths in Longford - Monday, March 25, 2019

Jimmy Donohoe, Derrycasson, Dring, Longford
The death occurred, peacefully at home in the loving care of his family, on Saturday, March 23 of Jimmy Donohoe, Derrycasson, Dring, Co Longford. Deeply regretted by his wife Elizabeth (Lilly), son Bernard, daughters Caroline, Maggie, Lizzie, sons in law, daughter in law, grandchildren, brother Pat and sister Bridgie and a large circle of friends. RIP.
Reposing at his residence (N39 P9W7) on Monday, March 25 from 2pm to 10pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 26 at 1pm in St Columba's Church, Mullinalaghta, with burial immediately afterwards in the local cemetery. House private at all other times, please. Please note that a shuttle bus service will be in operation from St Columba's football pitch, Mullinalaghta to the residence from 2pm on Monday.

Brigid (Bridie) Holland (née McNerney), Camagh, Abbeylara, Longford
The death occurred, suddenly, at her home, on Wednesday, March 6 of Brigid (Bridie) Holland (née McNerney), North London, England and formerly Camagh, Abbeylara, Longford. Deeply regretted by her daughter Linda, sons Mark and Alan her six grandchildren, Ethan Holland, Alisha Redgwell, Charlotte Holland, Kade Holland, and Ella-Rose Redgwell and all her friends and neighbours both in England and Ireland. May she Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Granard, Co Longford on Tuesday, March 26 from 7pm-8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning, March 27 to St Bernard’s Church, Abbeylara for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in Carra Cemetery.

Patrick (Paddy) McGrath, Bracklin and late of Moatfarrell, Edgeworthstown, Longford
The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by his family and in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Mullingar General Hospital, on Saturday, March 23 of Patrick (Paddy) McGrath, Bracklin and late of Moatfarrell, Edgeworthstown, Longford. Predeceased by his brother Petie. Deeply regretted by his sisters Mai O'Reilly (Old Clonbroney) and Crissie Flood (Edgeworthstown), nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Funeral Mass Monday, March 25 at 12 noon in St Mary's Church Edgeworthstown, followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan at 2pm. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Palliative Care c/o Gogan Funeral Directors or any family member.

Michael Malone, Cloonadra, Lanesboro, Roscommon
The death occurred, peacefully, at University College Hospital Galway, on Friday, March 22 of Michael Malone, Cloonadra, Lanesboro, Roscommon.  Sadly missed by his loving wife Nuala, his sons Brian, Andrew and David, his daughters Patricia, Ruth and Michelle, his grandchildren, sons & daughters in law, relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass at 12 noon on Monday, March 25 at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Ballyleague, followed by burial at Cloontuskert Cemetery.

Brigie Lee (née Nesdale), Lattagloghan, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan / Ballinagh, Cavan
The death occurred,  peacefully, in the loving care of her family and nursing staff at Cavan General Hospital, on Sunday, March 24 of Brigie Lee (née Nesdale), Lattagloghan, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan and late of Drumheel, Ballinagh. Wife of the late John. Deeply regretted by her loving daughter Betty, sons P J and Martin, son-in-law Rick, granddaughters Sarah and Joanne, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace.
Reposed at her home on Sunday, March 24 from 5pm to 8pm. House private on Monday and Tuesday, March 25 & 26 to family and friends. Removal on Monday, March 25 to St Dympna's Church, Upper Lavey, arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 26 at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Peter Clyne, Liverpool and formerly of Monascallen, Moydow, Longford
The death occurred, peacefully, in Liverpool, on Tuesday, March 19 of Peter Clyne, Liverpool and formerly of Monascallen, Moydow, Longford. Predeceased by his parents and his brother John. He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, brothers Bill and Barney, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Eileen Brennan (née O'Brien), Cortober, Arva, Cavan
The death occurred, peacefully, at her home in the care of her devoted family, on Saturday, March 23 of Eileen Brennan née O'Brien, Cortober, Arva, Co Cavan. Predeceased by her husband Peter and sons; Peter Oliver and Christopher. Deeply regretted by her adorning family, her daughters; Maura and Anne (Hughes), sons; Hugh, P.J, John, Gerry, Martin and Terence, daughters in law, sons in law, sister in law; Sylvia, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and a large circle of neighbours and friends. RIP.
Reposing at her home in Cortober on Monday, March 25 from 2 to 6pm with closing prayers at 5.30pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, March 26 at 11am, at the Church of the Holy Family, Loch Gowna, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House strictly private at all other times, please. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.

Alex McHutcheon, Fallon Avenue, Roscommon Town, Roscommon / Strokestown, Roscommon / Hacketstown, Carlow


The death occurred, peacefully, in the loving care of all the staff at Mullingar General Hospital, on Thursday, March 21 of Alex McHutcheon, Fallon Avenue, Roscommon town and formerly of The Kilbride Inn, Tully, Strokestown, Roscommon.
Predeceased by his wife Rita. Much loved father of Annette (O'Connor), Carmel (Kelly), Linda and Shirley. He will be sadly missed by his loving daughters, sons-in-law John and Gary and Linda's partner Declan, grandchildren James, Christine, Aoibhe and Anna, great granddaughter Roísín, sisters Mary, Ann and Eileen, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Rest In Peace.
Removal on Monday, March 25 to St Brigid's Church, Four-Mile-House to arrive for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Ballinderry Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in-lieu of to The Irish Lung Foundation or Mullingar Hospital MRI Scanner Fund.

Steve Dunworth, Kiltymoodan, Ballinamore, Leitrim
The death occurred on Wednesday, March 20 of Steve Dunworth, Kiltymoodan, Ballinamore, Leitrim.
Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Siobhan, brother Lee, sister-in-law Sarah, niece Georgia, nephew Sean, mother-in-law Eileen, father-in-law Michael, relatives and his many friends. Rest in Peace.
Funeral Service in St Patrick's Church, Ballinamore on Tuesday, March 26 at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Oughteragh Cemetery. House strictly private please.
