The death occurred, suddenly, at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, on Saturday, December 1 of Edward Harward (Eddie) Hewitt, 9 Paraic Colum Heights, Longford town and late of Brannigan, Ballymahon, and recently in the care of the staff of Cluain Lir Care Centre, Mullingar. Son of the late Harmen and Kathleen. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by his sister Louise (England), sisters-in-law Mary (Ballymahon), Julie (New South Wales), and Patricia (USA), nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends. Safe in the arms of Jesus.
Reposing in St Joseph's Care Centre, Church of Ireland, Longford, this Wednesday December 5 from 5pm followed by removal to St Catherine's Church, Ballymahon, at 7pm. Funeral service on Thursday, December 6 at 1pm followed by interment in adjoining graveyard.

The death occurred, peacefully, on Sunday, December 2 of Eithne Lyons (née O'Brien), The Park, Strandhill Road, Sligo Town, Sligo and formerly of Carrickboy, Co Longford, & Ballykilroe, Co Westmeath. Beloved wife of the late Lally and dear mother of Kathleen & Mary. Deeply regretted by her daughters, brother Fr. Tony (Columban Father), sister Marie, grandchildren Emer & Kevin, son in law Terence, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours & friends. Rest in Peace.

The death occurred on Thursday, November 29 of Páid McGee, Rathgar, Dublin and formerly of Aughnacliffe, County Longford. Emeritus Director, Special Education Department, St Patrick’s College/DCU, Drumcondra, peacefully in the exceptional care of the staff of Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross.
Beloved husband and dearest friend of Marie (Raftery) and much loved brother of Ita (O’Dowd), Eugene and Evangeline (Cummins). Predeceased by his brother, Fr Philip, and sisters Sr Kathleen (LSU) and Alice. Páid will be deeply missed by Marie, Ita, Eugene and Evangeline, by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and relations, by the wider Raftery family, his former colleagues, neighbours and his many close friends.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday, December 4, in the Church of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom, St Patrick’s Campus, DCU, Drumcondra (formerly St Patrick’s College), followed by burial at Glasnevin Cemetery. “Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis”

Reposing at Glennons Funeral Home, Longford on Tuesday, December 4 from 5pm - 7pm with prayers at 6.30pm followed by removal to St Mary's Church, Cloone arriving at 8pm. Funeral mass on Wednesday, December 5 at 12 noon followed by burial in the local cemetery.

The death occurred, peacefully, in the exceptional care of the nurses and staff of the Sheil Hospital, Ballyshannon, on Friday, November 30 of Ellen (Nellie) Gaffney, Wardhouse, Tullaghan, Leitrim. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Gaffney. Nellie will be sadly missed and deeply regretted by the Melly and Sheerin families and all her relatives, neighbours and friends. May She Rest in Eternal Peace.
