Bridget Shanley (née Hegarty), Killashee, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, October 2 of Bridget Shanley (née Hegarty), Killashee, Longford. Predeceased by her husband James (Sonny), her brother Michael and sister Carmel. Bridget will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family; son John, daughters Julie (Glennon) and Catherine, son-in-law William, brothers Timmy, Paddy and Seamus, sisters Julia (Hopkins), Maureen (Brewster) and Eileen (McCullough), grandchildren Liam, Anna and Patrick, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May She Rest In Peace.
Reposing at her home on Thursday, October 4 from 3pm until 8pm. Removal on Friday, October 5 to arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Killashee, for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery.

Kathleen Donlon (née Boyle), ‘Rathcor’, Ardnacassa, Dublin Road, Longford Town, Longford / Omagh, Tyrone


The death occurred on Sunday, September 30 of Kathleen Donlon (née Boyle), ‘Rathcor’, Ardnacassa, Dublin Road, Longford Town, Longford, formerly of Omagh, Co Tyrone. Beloved wife of the late John and dear sister of the late Chris and Fr Jim, Kathleen will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, son Brian, daughter Jean (O’Gorman), daughter-in-law Mariel, son-in-law Cormac, grandchildren Evan, Cillian, Lorna and Etha , brothers Cullen, Eugene and Andrew, sisters Molly, Joanna, Nora and Gertrude, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and wonderful friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road on Wednesday, October 3 from 6pm until 8pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Thursday, October 4 to arrive at St Joseph’s Hospital Chapel, Dublin Road for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery.

Marcella Farrell (née Maguire), Fairy Hall, Rathowen, Westmeath / Longford
The death occurred, peacefully, after a short illness at Mullingar Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, October 2 of Marcella Farrell (née Maguire), Fairy Hall, Rathowen, Westmeath / Longford and formerly of Petitswood, Mullingar.
Predeceased by Rosamund, Hubert, Joe, Tom and Kitty. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Luke, son Edward, daughters Mary, Anita and Elizabeth, grandchildren Luke and Marcella, sons-in-law Alan and Heiko and sisters Maureen and Aileen, brother-in-law Walter and sisters-in-law Helen and Betty, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in Peace.
Removal to St Mary's Church, Rathowen, on Wednesday, October 3 arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 4 at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in Abbeyshrule Cemetery. House private please.

John Scally, Anrattabeg, Lanesboro, Roscommon
The death occurred on Sunday September 23, 2018 of John Scally, Anrattabeg, Lanesboro, Roscommon, peacefully after a short illness bravely borne in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Beloved son of the late Tom and Annie Scally, Anrattabeg, Lanesboro, and much loved father of John, John is deeply regretted by his loving son, Ernesta John's mother, his devoted sister Caroline, brothers Kevin and Donal, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, extended family and close friends.
Memorial Mass for the happy repose of his soul will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon, on Saturday October 6 at 11am followed by interment of his ashes in Cloontuskert Cemetery.

Jim Meehan, Station Road, Dromahair, Leitrim
The death occurred, peacefully, at his home, on Wednesday, October 3 of Jim Meehan, Station Road, Dromahair, Leitrim. Dearly beloved husband of Chrissie and loving dad of Fergus, Kevin and Kieran. Sadly missed by his sisters Kathleen, Della, Gay, Ena, Noeleen and Geroadine, daughters-in-law Patricia, Nicola and Sarah, grandchildren Amy, Thomas, Amelia, Aishling and Michael, relatives and friends.
Reposing at his home on Thursday, October 4 from 1pm to 3pm and from 5pm to 9.30pm, also on Friday, October 5 from 10am to 12 noon. House private thereafter. Removal on Friday to St Mary’s Church, Killenummery, for funeral Mass at 4pm. Burial afterwards in Carrowcrin Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu, if desired, to North West Hospice.

James Durneen, Largantemple, Lurganboy, Manorhamilton, Leitrim
The death occurred, peacefully, at his home, on Tuesday, October 2 of James Durneen, Largantemple, Lurganboy, Co Leitrim. Deeply regretted by his daughter Emily, sons Thomas and David, daughter-in-law Linda, grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends.Peace Perfect Peace.
Reposing at Our Lady's Hospital, Manorhamilton on Wednesday evening, October 3 from 5.30pm to 7pm. Removal to Lurganboy Chapel of Ease to arrive at 7.30pm. Funeral Service on Thursday, October 4 at 2pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to the Chapel of Ease. House private please.

Martina Corcoran (née Moran), Ballygurry, Knockcroghery, Roscommon


The death occurred, peacefully, at Innis Ree Lodge, Ballyleague, on Tuesday, October 2 of Martina Corcoran (née Moran), Ballygurry, Knockcroghery, Roscommon.
Predeceased by her husband William (Willie), sisters Annie, Kitty, Sr. Lucia, Sr. Patsy and Pauline and daughter-in-law Marie. She will be very sadly missed by her family Pat (Kilteevan), Bernard (Ballygurry), Mary (Roscommon), Bridie (Ballygurry), Liam (Roscommon) and Noeleen (Castleplunket), sisters Mary Brennan and Sr. Betty, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in peace.
Reposing at the family home in Ballygurry on Wednesday evening, October 3. Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon on Thursday evening, October 4 from 5pm until 7pm followed by removal to St John’s Church, Lecarrow. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, October 5 at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to the Western Alzheimer’s Association.

Carmel Middleton (née Wallace), Raithin and late of Irishtown, Ballynacarrigy, Mullingar, Westmeath
The death occurred, peacefully, at home in Raithin, in the company of her devoted family, on Tuesday, October 2 of Carmel Middleton (nee Wallace) Raithin and late of Irishtown, Ballynacarrigy, Mullingar, Co Westmeath. She will be very sadly missed by her loving children Maurice, James, Gary, Damien and Marina, her adored grandchildren, sisters Maura (Daly) and Bridget (Illingworth), brothers Peter, George, Mick, Pat and Bill, extended family and many friends. May Carmel Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Gilsenan's Funeral Home on Thursday, October 4 from 3.30pm followed by removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 5pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, October 5 at 12 noon followed by burial in Milltown Cemetery, Rathconrath.


John McGee, Maughera, Finea, Cavan

The death occurred on Sunday September 16, 2018 of John McGee, Manchester, England and Late of Maughera, Finea, Co Cavan, peacefully at his home.
A devoted husband to Mary, John will be sadly missed by his loving wife, son and daughters, grandchildren and extended family.
Removal arriving St Mary's Church, Carrick on Tuesday evening October, 2 at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, October 3 at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Michael Farrell, Cooleeney House, Longford

The death has occurred on Thursday, September 27 of Michael Farrell, Cooleeney House, Longford, peacefully in the loving care of the staff at the Hermitage Clinic.
Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Edith, Michael will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family - sisters Patricia and Ann, brother Eamon, brothers-in-law George and Ralph, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road on Tuesday, October 2 from 6-8pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Wednesday, October 3 to arrive at St Mel’s Cathedral for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am.  Interment afterwards in Moydow Cemetery.
