Rev Fr Patrick Moran, Ballyleague, Roscommon / Lanesboro, Longford


The death occurred on Sunday, March 11 of Rev Fr Patrick Moran, Ballyleague, Roscommon and formerly of Carraroe, Lanesboro, Co Longford, Pastor Emeritus, Diocese of Duluth, Minnesota, USA, peacefully at The Regional Hospital, Mullingar.
Predeceased by his parents John and Hannah, his brothers John and Phonsie and his sister Hannah (Curran). Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sisters Margaret (Kilroy) and Sr Evelyn, his brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, the staff of Innis Ree Lodge and his many friends.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, Longford on Tuesday, March 13 from 3pm until 5.15pm with prayers at 4pm. Removal to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Lanesboro at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday March 14 at 12 noon, interment afterwards in Cashel Cemetery. Requiescat in pace.

Paddy Duffy, St Brigid's Terrace, Mullingar, Westmeath / Ardagh, Longford
The death occurred on Saturday, March 10 of Paddy Duffy, St Brigid’s Terrace, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and late of Coolcaw, Ardagh, Co Longford and former staff of St Loman’s Hospital, Mullingar, suddenly but peacefully at his home.
Beloved husband of the late Maura and dear father of Joe, Michael, Angela, Patrick, James, John, Monica and Martin.
He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted family, his much loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, sister-in-law Monica, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Paddy rest in peace.
Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 13 from 3pm followed by Removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 5.30pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 14 at 10am followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery. Family flowers only please; donations if desired, to St Vincent de Paul.


Ita Mulvihill (née Judge), Lisaniskey, Ballymahon, Longford
The death occurred on Friday, March 9 of Ita Mulvihill (nee Judge), Lisaniskey, Ballymahon, Longford who passed away at her home at Lisaniskey, Ballymahon, Co. Longford.
Beloved wife of the late Brian Mulvihill and much loved mother of David, Desmond, Lisa and Bernard. Sadly missed by her sisters Elsie, Bridie and Mary, daughters-in-law Áine and Emma, son-in-law Kealan, grand children Brian, Sadhbh, Millie, Charlie, George, Harry and Alannah and dearest friend and companion George. May she rest in peace.

The death occurred, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by her family, on Friday, March 9 of Marie Connolly (née McConnon), Rathcronan, Granard, Longford and formerly Corcrin, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan. Sadly missed by her husband Gerard, sons Anthony and Joseph, daughter Rosemary, brothers Jim and Martin, sisters Anne, Betty, Margaret, Breige and Pauline, Brothers in law. Sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. May She Rest In Peace.
Funeral Mass on Monday, March 12 at 12 noon in St Mary’s Church, Granard followed by burial in Granardkille new cemetery. House private please.

Ann Guckian (née Mannion), Hill Street, Mohill, Leitrim
The death occurred on Friday, March 9 of of Ann Guckian (née Mannion), Hill Street, Mohill, Co Leitrim and Arus Carolan Nursing Home,  aged 99 years peacefully, at Arus Carolan.
Predeceased by her husband James, son; Padraig and daughter; Maura Conaty. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, her daughter; Aine, son; Liam, son-in-law; Tom Conaty, grandchildren; Paul, David, Stephen and Aisling, great-grandson; Tommy, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at the residence of her son-in-law; Tom Conaty, Bridge Street, Mohill on Tuesday, March 13 from 2pm - 9pm. Removal to arrive at St Patrick's Church, Mohill on Wednesday morning March 14 for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired to Arus Carolan Patient Comfort Fund c/o Early's Funeral Directors, Mohill. House private on Wednesday morning please.

Margaret Connolly (née McDermott), Druminshingore, Newtowngore, Leitrim
The death occurred on Sunday, March 11 of Margaret Connolly (nee McDermott), Druminshingore, Newtowngore, Leitrim, peacefully, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, in her 88th year. Predeceased by her husband Owen. Deeply regretted by her sons John, Joseph, Vincent (Ballyconnell) and Brian, daughters Maura Connolly (Carrigallen) and Margaret McWeeney (Aughnasheelin), brother Bernard McDermott, sisters Rosanna Heslin (Aughavas) and Isabel (Newcastle, Co. Down), daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May She Rest in Peace.
Reposing at her residence on Monday, March 12 from 5pm until 10pm and on Tuesday, March 13 from 1pm until 3pm, house private at all other times, please. Removal on Tuesday evening March 13 to arrive at St Mary's Church, Drumeela, at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning March 14 at 11am, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to Sligo/Leitrim Palliative Care c/o Gorby Funeral Directors, Newtowngore. Access to house by shuttle bus only, operating from Newtowngore village during reposing times.

Kathleen Mills (née Nee O'Brien), Dublin Road, Ballinagh, Cavan
The death occurred on Saturday, March 10 of Kathleen Mills, late of Mills pub, Dublin Road, Ballinagh, peacefully, at Castle Manor Nursing Home, Cavan.
Predeceased by her husband Freddie and her sister Angela. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing daughters Patricia, Christina and Catherine, sister Mar, brother, Tom, son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  May she rest in peace.
Removal was to St Felim's Church, Ballinagh. Funeral Mass on Monday morning March 12 at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

James ‘Jim’ Feeney, Caul, Kilglass, Roscommon
The death occurred, peacefully, in Roscommon University Hospital, aged 86 years, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, March 10 of James ‘Jim’ Feeney, Caul, Kilglass, Roscommon. Predeceased by his granddaughter Ellen. Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, wife Jo, daughter Pamela, sons Fergus & Seamus, son in law J.J (Hanley), daughters in law Peig & Nollaig, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister in law, brother in law, cousins, relatives, neighbours & friends. Rest in Peace.
Funeral Mass on Monday, March 12 at 11.30am in St Anne’s Church, Slatta, followed by burial in Kilglass new cemetery. House private on Monday morning, please.

Eileen Scarlett, Simonstown, Coole, Westmeath
The death occurred, peacefully, after a short illness, in the loving care of her family and the staff of the Midland Regional Hospital at Tullamore, on Friday, March 9 of Eileen Scarlett, Simonstown, Coole, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath. Eileen will be deeply missed by all those who loved her, especially her heartbroken sisters Sarah (Gorman), Molly (Arkins), her brothers Michael, Billy and John, her brother-in-law Paddy Gorman, sister-in-law Bernie Scarlett, her adored nieces and nephews, relatives, good friends and neighbours. May Eileen’s gentle soul rest forever in perfect peace.
Funeral Mass on Monday, March 12 at 12.30pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coole, with burial afterwards in Whitehall Cemetery. ‘Grief is the Price we Pay for Love’.


PJ Rushe, Birmingham, England and formerly of Cloonfree, Strokestown, Roscommon
The death occurred on Thursday, February 22 of PJ Rushe, Birmingham, England and formerly of Cloonfree, Strokestown, Roscommon, peacefully, aged 84 years.
Beloved father of the late Peter. Dearly missed by his beloved wife Maureen, sons Joseph, Martin and Raymond, daughter-in-law’s Bernadette, Lorraine, Lynda and Marie, his eleven grandchildren, sister Kathleen and his extended family and friends. May He rest in peace.
PJ will be received into Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, Yardley Wood, on Monday, March 12 at 7pm. Funeral Mass is on Tuesday, March 13 at 9.30am. Burial afterwards in New Oscott Cemetery, Sutton, Coldfield. Family flowers only please. A Memorial Mass for P.J. will be held in Ireland at a later date.

Harry Moore, Bealnamulla, Athlone, Roscommon


The death occurred, peacefully at Thomond Lodge Nursing Home, Ballymahon, on Tuesday, February 27 of Harry Moore, Bealnamulla, Athlone, Roscommon, late of South Africa and Greystones, Co Wicklow. Predeceased by his beloved wife Joan and recently his twin-sister Joan. Sadly missed by his loving daughter Cara, sons Michael and Conor, sisters Marie and Nan, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, relatives and friends.
May he rest in peace. Requiem mass will be celebrated in St Malachy's Church, Alfred Street, Belfast on Monday morning March 12 at 10am followed by cremation in Roselawn crematorium at 12 noon.
