Deaths in Longford - Monday, February 26, 2018

Rev Fr Ned O'Hara, Lisryan, Longford / Westmeath
The recent death has occurred on Saturday, February 24, of Rev Fr Ned O'Hara, Lisryan, Granard, Co Longford and formerly of the Diocese of Sacramento, California, suddenly at Mullingar General Hospital surrounded by his beloved family.
Predeceased by his brothers Hugh and Fr Michael and his sisters Brigid, Nell Campbell and Maureen Prunty. Fr. Ned will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his brothers John and Patsy, sister in law Maeve, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family and large circle of friends and neighbours. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Fr Ned's remains will be reposing at his residence this Monday, February 26 from 4pm until 10pm and on Tuesday, February 27 from 1pm until 5pm with removal to Boherquill Church to arrive for 7pm. Funeral Mass Wednesday, February 28 at 12 noon with burial afterwards in St Fintan's Cemetery. Family flowers only please.

Anne Gavigan (née Bawle), Thurreen, Lanesboro, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, in her 93rd year, at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar, surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 23 of Anne Gavigan (née Bawle), Thurreen, Lanesboro, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Jimmy and her grandson Kyle. Sadly missed by her loving family Annette, Geraldine, Syril, Tony, Gary, Bosco, Kevin, Noel, Maria, Eamon and Martina, sons in law, daughters in law, her twenty eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her brother Mike and sisters Margaret, Tess and Claire, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives, friends and neighbours.
Removal on Monday, February 26 to St Mary's Church Lanesboro for Mass of the Resurrection at 12.30pm. Burial afterwards in Rathcline Cemetery. May she Rest in Peace.
Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to the Irish Kidney Association.

Mary Edgeworth, Middleton, Killashee, Longford


The death occurred, suddenly at her home, on Saturday, February 24 of Mary Edgeworth, Middleton, Killashee, Longford. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary and her brothers Johnny and Tommy. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her brother Frank, relatives and friends. May she Rest In Peace.
Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, February 26 at 12 noon in St Patrick’s Church, Killashee, interment afterwards in Killashee Cemetery. House private please.

Fergal McGuinness, Abbeycartron, Longford town, Longford


The death occurred on Friday, February 23 of Fergal McGuinness, Abbeycartron, Longford town, peacefully surrounded by his loving family, beloved husband of Kathleen and dear father of Mary (O’Boyle), Peter, Aideen and Kevin.
Fergal will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, brothers Gerry, Kieran, Aiden and Michael, sisters Marie, Joan, Gertrude, Breda and Colette, son in law Martin, daughters in law Michelle and Tracy, brothers in law, sisters in law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral home, Ballinalee Road on Monday, February 26 from 5pm until 8pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Tuesday, February 27 to arrive at St Mel’s Cathedral for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery. Family flowers only please donations if desired to Longford Hospice, c/o Glennon Funeral Home or any family member. House private please.

Michael Bohan, Drogheda, Louth / Cloone, Leitrim


The recent death has occurred on Friday, February 23 of Michael Bohan, Forest Hill, Drogheda, Co Louth and formerly of Clooneen, Cloone, Co Leitrim, peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Michael, former Chief Superintendent of An Garda Siochána, beloved husband of the late Nancy. Sadly missed by his loving sons John and Michael, daughters Anne, Gretta and Breeda, sons in law John, Bobby and James, daughters in law Eliane and Alison, grandchildren Robert, Emma and Naoimh, great grandchildren Onique, Margot and Tiffany-Rose, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Rest In Peace.
Removal on Monday morning February 26 from Townley's Funeral Home, Crosslanes, Drogheda at 10.30am, arriving to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St Peter’s Cemetery.

Margaret McMyler (née Kirkman), Rochestown, Castlepollard, Westmeath


The death occurred on Saturday, February 24 of Margaret McMyler (nee Kirkman), Rochestown, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath, peacefully at home in the company of her devoted husband and family.
Predeceased by her baby daughter Eileen; Margaret will be greatly missed by her loving husband Martin, family Kathleen, Teresa, Margaret, Jim, Martina, Josephine, Martin, Marie and Claire, sisters and brother, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Gilsenan's Funeral Home, Mullingar, on Monday, February 26 from 3pm to 6pm concluding with evening prayer. Removal from her home on Tuesday, February 27 to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coole, for 12 noon Mass. Funeral immediately afterwards to Whitehall Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired, to Family Carers Ireland.

Patrick Darcy, Glasnevin, Dublin
The death occurred on Wednesday, February 21 of Patrick Darcy, Glasnevin, Dublin, peacefully after a short illness at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown.
Patrick, beloved husband of the late Laura and loving father of Aileen, Fergus and Declan. Sadly missed by his loving family, daughters-in-law, Kathleen and Siobhan, grandchildren Peter, Eoin, Aoife, Niamh, Kate and Emmett, great-grandchildren Darragh and David, extended family and friends. Rest in Peace.
Funeral on Monday morning February 26 after 10am Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Dolours, Glasnevin to Glasnevin Crematorium. Family flowers only, please. Donations, in lieu, to the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (R.N.L.I.).
