James Macken, Rathfarnham, Dublin / Granard, Longford
The death occurred, peacefully, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family, under the tender care of the staff of the cardiac unit in the Beacon Hospital, on Wednesday, February 14 of James Macken, Lt. Col Retired, Rathfarnham and late of Granard. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Marie (née Shivnan), his sons David, Barry, Conor and daughter Ciara McNaughten, his daughters-in-law Joan, Niamh, Kay and son-in-law Sean, together with his brothers Johnnie, Benny, Eddie, sister Doris and all his extended family and friends. His eight lovely grandchildren Darragh, Maeve, Leah, Amy, Ben, Holly, Sam and Lucy are very saddened at his passing.
James will be reposing in the Larry Massey Funeral Home, Eden Centre, Grange Road, Rathfarnham, on Friday, February 16, from 5pm to 7pm, returning to spend the night at home, Family only. Removal on Saturday morning, February 17 to the Church of the Annunciation, Rathfarnham, arriving for 11am Mass. Funeral afterwards to Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross. No flowers please.
Paddy Farrell, Garrycam, Ardagh, Longford
The death occurred on Tuesday, February 13 of Paddy Farrell, Garrycam, Ardagh, Longford, suddenly, at his home.
Predeceased by his partner Bridget McGee and his aunt Bridget. Sadly missed by his loving sisters Frances and Jacqueline and his brother Leonard, nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbours, relatives and friends. Rest in peace.
Reposing at St Joseph’s Hospital Chapel, Dublin Road, Longford, on Thursday, February 15 from 4.30pm with Prayers at 6pm followed by removal to St Anne's Church, Ballycloughan, arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, February 16 at 11am. Burial afterwards in Carrickedmond Cemetery.
Seamus Kennedy, Shallon, Julianstown, Meath / Tarmonbarry, Roscommon
The death occurred, peacefully after a short illness, on Wednesday, February 14 of Seamus Kennedy, Shallon, Julianstown, Co Meath and formerly of Tarmonbarry, Co Roscommon. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, son Sean, daughters Angela, Anne and Josephine, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, brother, sisters, grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends. The death occurred on Monday, January 29 of John Henry Grier, Shepherds Bush, London and formerly of Drumgildra, Mohill, Co Leitrim, peacefully at Paddington Hospital, London following a short illness.
Predeceased by his brother Tommy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, his brothers; Fr. Matt, James, Bernie and Charlie, sisters; Mary Ellen, Elizabeth, Rose, Bernadette and Kathleen, aunt, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
