Deaths in Longford - April 17, 2017

Hughie Doyle, Dublin Street, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred, peacefully at Abbey Haven Nursing Home, Boyle, on Saturday, April 15 of Hughie Doyle, late of Dublin Street, Longford town. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Bridie, son James, daughters Mary and Helen, daughter in law Lily, son in law Paul, grandchildren Brian, Peader, Megan, Ciaran, and Sean, nephews Aiden, Patsy, Vincent, Declan, and Raymond, cousins, relatives and friends. RIP.
Reposing at Saint Joseph's Hospital Chapel, Dublin Road, Longford on Monday, April 17 from 4pm with prayers at 5.15pm, followed by removal to St Mel's Cathedral, arriving at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 18 at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Newtownforbes Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Longford Alzheimers' Society c/o Kelly's Funeral Directors, Dublin Road, Longford or any family member.

Kitty Clancy (née Duffy), Ardbohill, Edgeworthstown, Longford
The death occurred, peacefully at Thomond Lodge Nursing Home, Ballymahon, on Saturday, April 15 of Kitty Clancy (née Duffy), Ardbohill, Edgeworthstown, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Bill Joe, deeply regretted by her daughter Catherine (Greene), sons Andy, John and Mel, grandchildren, great grandson, brother in law, son in law, daughters in law, cousins neighbours and friends.
May she rest in peace. Reposed at Thomond Lodge on Sunday, April 16. Mass of the resurrection on Monday, April 17 in St Brigid's Church, Ardagh at 12 noon with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.


Rita Coffey (née Dayton), Ashbrook, Scramogue, Roscommon
The death occurred, in the loving care of all the staff at Costello's Private Nursing Home Ballyleague, on Saturday, April 15 of Rita Coffey (née Dayton), Ashbrook, Scramogue, Roscommon. Predeceased by her husband Willie and much loved mother of Ann Marie, Martina (O'Reilly) and Catriona (Folliard). She will be sadly missed by her sorrowing family, sons-in-law, grandchildren, sister Maureen Murray, nephews, nieces, sister-in-law Rita Dayton, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest In Peace.
Reposing at her home in Ashbrook on Monday, April 17 from 4pm until 8pm followed by removal to St Anne's Church, Scramogue, to arrive at 8:30pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 18 at 11:30am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Francis Hartin, Portanure, Loch Gowna, Cavan
The death occurred, peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Cavan General Hospital, on Saturday, April 15 of Francis Hartin, Portanure, Loch Gowna, Co Cavan. Beloved husband of Maureen and adored father of Michael, Fergal, Gavin, Cathaldus and Fionnuala, also sadly missed by his twelve grandchildren, brothers; Tony and P.J, sisters; Bernadette, Phyllis and Maria, nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law; Marian, Lukia and Claire, son-in-law to be; Graham, extended family and a large circle of neighbours and friends. RIP.
Reposed at his home on Sunday, April 16 and also reposing at his home on Monday, April 17 from 12pm until 4pm, with removal to the Church of the Holy Family, Loch Gowna,, arriving for 7pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, April 18 at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Cavan Palliative Care, care of White's Funeral Directors or any family member. House private after 4pm on Monday please.

The death occurred, peacefully at his residence, on Friday, April 14 of Frank Leonard, Aughanoran, Dring, Longford.  Deeply regretted by his loving wife Anne, sons Francis, David and Colm, daughters-in-law Catherine and Pauline, grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces and a large circle of friends.
Reposed at his residence on Friday, April 14 with removal on Sunday evening, April 16 to St Columba's Church, Mullinalaghta. Funeral Mass on Monday, April 17 at 12 noon with burial immediately afterwards in local cemetery. House private on Sunday from 2pm please.


Marcella Mullen, Palmerstown, Dublin / Abbeyshrule, Longford
The death occurred, peacefully at James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Dublin, on Friday, April 14 of Marcella Mullen, Palmerstown, Dublin, formerly Drimanure, Abbeyshrule, Co Longford. Beloved daughter of the late Thos and Cella Mullen. Sadly missed by her brothers Jim, Tom, Pat, Frank and Tony, sisters Mary, Cora and Geraldine, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Removal from Dublin on Sunday evening, April 16 arriving to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Abbeyshrule. Funeral Mass on Monday, April 17 at 12 noon followed by burial in Abbeyshrule Cemetery.

The death occurred on Tuesday, April 11 of Bridgie Charles, Leckna, Cloone, Co Leitrim,  peacefully at Mullingar Regional Hospital.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Mary Charles (England), nieces, nephew, grandchildren; Craig, Georgina, Emily, Amelia, Hugh and Siena, great-granddaugher; Clara, cousins, neighbours and a large circle of friends. May she Rest in Peace.
Remains reposed at her residence on Saturday, April 15  with removal to arrive to St Mary's Church, Cloone. Funeral Mass on Monday, April 17 at 11am with burial afterwards to the adjoining cemetery. House private from 2pm on Saturday please.

The death occurred, suddenly at Mullingar's Midlands Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, April 12 of Matthew ‘Matt’ Fagan, Ankerland, Fore, Castlepollard, Westmeath. Survived by his loving brothers James and John, sisters in law Norah and Claire, nephews, family and a wide circle of friends.
Removal to St Fechin's Church, Fore on Monday, April 17 for 5.30pm. Funeral on Tuesday, April 18 for 11am mass and burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Margaret ‘Mag’ O'Keeffe (née Fay), Ballinafid, Multyfarnham, Westmeath
The death occurred, peacefully following a short illness at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar, on Friday, April 14 of Margaret ‘Mag’ O'Keeffe (nee Fay), Ballinafid, Multyfarnham, Co Westmeath. Mag will be sadly missed by her devoted husband Paddy, sons Patrick and Gerard, daughters-in-law Christine and Sandra, her much loved grandchildren Nicola, Aisling and Sean, sister Agnes (Canada), sisters-in-law Nancy and Betty, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposed at Gilsenan's Funeral Home on Sunday, April 16 followed by removal to St Nicholas' Church, Multyfarnham, arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, April 17 at 11am followed by burial in St Peter's the Rock Cemetery.
