Deaths in Longford - April 11, 2017

James ‘Seamus’ Carroll, Rathcline Road, Lanesboro, Co Longford / Roscommon / Drumsna, Co Leitrim

The death occurred on Sunday, April 9 of James ‘Seamus’ Carroll, Rathcline Road, Lanesboro, Co Longford and formerly Kilbride, Drumsna, Co Leitrim, peacefully, in the loving care of the staff at Roscommon University Hospital. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Kay and Mary (Devaney), brother Michael, extended family and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon on Tuesday, April 11 from 4.30pm until 6pm followed by removal to St Mary’s Church, Lanesboro arriving at 6.30pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, April 12 at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Rathcline Cemetery.


Mary Crehan (née O'Hara), Corneddan, Ballinalee, Co Longford
The death occurred on Saturday, April 8 of Mary Crehan (nee O'Hara) Corneddan, Ballinalee, Co Longford, suddenly in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home.
Mary will be sadly missed by her husband Bill, her daughters; Mary, Roseleen and Geraldine, sons-in-law; Michael, Micky and John, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family and many neighbours and friends. May She Rest In Peace.
Reposed at the home of her daughter Geraldine in Corneddan on Monday, April 10. Removal to arrive at St Mary's Church, Ennybegs on Tuesday, April 11 for funeral mass at 12 noon with burial afterwards in local cemetery. Family time on Tuesday morning please.


Jimmy Mulligan, The Demesne, Longford Town, Longford
The death occurred on Monday, April 10 of Jimmy Mulligan, The Demesne, Longford Town, ex Longford Tyre Services, at his home. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Yvonne, son James, daughter Kerry, son-in- law Andre, grandchildren Scarlett and Christian, brother-in-law Melvyn, sister-in-law Janette, nephews Jamie, Wesley and Anthony, cousins, relatives, good friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.
Removal on Wednesday morning April 12 from his home to St Mel's Cathedral, Longford for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery. No flowers by request please. Donations, if desired, to Longford Hospice Homecare. House strictly private please.

Michael Beglan, Hillside Drive, Mullingar, Westmeath
The death occurred, peacefully in the devoted care of the Staff of St. Camillus Nursing Centre, Killucan, on Saturday, April 8 of Michael Beglan, Hillside Drive, Mullingar and late of Ballynacargy. Predeceased by his wife Mary; deeply regretted by his devoted wife Bríd, loving family Mary, John, Michael, Tom and Pat, sisters, Von, Claire and Josie, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, neighbours, relatives and friends.
Reposed at St Camillus' Chapel of Rest on Monday, April 10. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 11 in St Camillus' Chapel at 10.30am, followed by burial in Sonna Cemetery to arrive at 12.30 approximately.

Thomas ‘Tom’ Kelly, (Publican), Lecarrow, Roscommon
The death occurred, peacefully, in the loving care of the staff at Roscommon University Hospital, on Sunday, April 9 of Thomas ‘Tom’ Kelly, (Publican), Lecarrow, Roscommon. Beloved husband of Kitty, much loved father of Declan, Adrienne (Martin), Sharon (Kilcline) and Emer, and brother of Phil (Feeley) and the late Carmel (Corcoran) He will be very sadly missed by his family, sister, daughter-in-law Jean, sons-in-law Fintan and Ivor, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposed at the home of his son Declan and daughter-in-law Jean in Lecarrow on Monday evening, April 10. Removal on Tuesday morning, April 11 to St John’s Church, Lecarrow arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. House private on Tuesday morning please.

Augustine ‘Gus’ Shiels, Raheny, Dublin / Gowna, Co Cavan
The death occurred on Saturday, April 8 of Augustine ‘Gus’ Shiels, Raheny and formerly of Knockaughy, Gowna, Co Cavan, suddenly in Beaumont Hospital.
Beloved husband of Margaret; loving father to Karen, Damien and Barry, sadly missed by son-in-law Graham, daughters-in-law Sue and Leeann, grandchildren, great-grandchild, brothers Mal and Peter, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in Peace.
Removal from Jennings Funeral Home, Springdale Road, Raheny on Wednesday morning April 12 to St Monica's Church, Edenmore arriving for 11am Funeral Mass followed by burial in Fingal Cemetery.
