Deaths in Longford - April 1, 2017

Martin Kiernan, Viewmount, Dublin Road, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred on Friday, March 31 of Martin Kiernan, Viewmount, Dublin Road, Longford, son of the late Edward and Marley, deeply regretted by his sister Olivia O'Carroll, Dublin, nephews Eamonn and James, niece Niamh, cousins, relatives and friends.
Reposing in Saint Joseph's Hospital Chapel, Dublin Road, Longford, on Saturday evening, April 1 from 4pm with prayers at 5pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday morning, April 2 at 11am, also in the hospital chapel, with burial afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery.


Damien Wenman, No. 2 Cloverwell, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford
The death occurred on Thursday, March 30 of Damien Wenman, No 2 Cloverwell, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, suddenly at his residence.
Deeply regretted by his loving wife Eileen, his children, Lillyanna, Jamie, Jasmine, Leon, Kayleigh, and Shauna, grandchild Charlie, brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at his home on Saturday, April 1 from 2pm. Mass of the resurrection on Sunday, April 2 in St Mary's church at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Aughafin cemetery. House private on Sunday please.


James ‘Jimmy’ McCormack, Rabbit Park, Ardagh, Co Longford
The death occurred on Wednesday, March 29 of James ‘Jimmy’ McCormack, Rabbit Park, Ardagh, peacefully in his 96th year, in the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff in Sunset Lodge at St Joseph's Hospital, Dublin Road, Longford.
Beloved cousin of Jimmy and Liam Halpin (Carrabeg). Deeply regretted by his family, very good neighbours and friends. Rest in Peace.
Funeral Mass also in St Joseph's Hospital Chapel on Saturday morning April 1 at 11am. Burial afterwards in Ardagh Cemetery.

Rose Furneaux (née Maguire), Bracklyn Road, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford
The recent death has occurred on Wednesday, March 29 of Rose Furneux (nee Maguire) Bracklyn Road, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, suddenly at the General Hospital, Mullingar.
Wife of the late Cliff. Deeply regretted by her loving son David, sister Bridget, granddaughter, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 1 at 11am in our Lady's Manor, Edgeworthstown followed by burial in St Emer's Cemetery, Ballinalee. Donations, if desired, to Irish Cancer Society c/o Martin Farrell and Sons Funeral Directors, Ballinalee or any family member.


Gina Hanna, Shannon View, Rooskey, Co Roscommon / Dublin
The death occurred on Friday March 31 of Gina Hanna, Shannon View, Rooskey, Co Roscommon, formerly Whitestown North, Co Dublin, peacefully at her home.
Gina, beloved wife of Tony (lover and friend) and dear mother of Stephanie, Mark, Eileen, Martina and the late Liam. Sadly missed by her loving family, son-in Law Eamon, partners, adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Rest in Peace. Reposing at her home on Sunday, April 2 from 5pm until 7pm. House private at all other times. Funeral Mass Monday, April 3 at 10am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rooskey followed by cremation at Glasnevin crematorium, Dublin at 1pm. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Cancer Research (donation box in Church). Bright dress please.


Nancy Lannon (née Murray), Kildallogue Heights, Strokestown, Roscommon
The death occurred, in the loving care of all the staff at Oakwood Nursing Home, Roscommon, on Friday March 31 of Nancy Lannon (née Murray), Kildallogue Heights, Strokestown, Roscommon, formerly of Caggle and in her 94th year. She will be sadly missed by her loving sister Betty (Wynne), nieces, nephews, sister-in-law Emma, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home on Sunday, April 2 from 5pm until 7pm followed by removal to the Parish Church. Funeral Mass on Monday, April 3 at 11 am. Burial afterwards in Strokestown Cemetery.
Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired to the patients comfort fund at Oakwood Nursing Home.
