Deaths in Longford - March 26, 2017

Ann Sheridan (née McGlynn), Lisnagrish, Edgeworthstown, Longford

The death occurred, peacefully, at the General Hospital, Mullingar, on Thursday, March 23 of Ann Sheridan (née McGlynn), Lisnagrish, Edgeworthstown, Longford. Sadly missed by her loving husband Michael, family Damien, Sharon, James and Jacqueline, grandchildren Leah and Liam, brothers Mick and Peter, sisters Mary, Rosie and Jodie, daughter-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
Mass of the Resurrection on Sunday, March 26 at 12 noon in St Mary's Church, Edgeworthstown with burial afterwards in Aughafin Cemetery. House private please.

Bill ‘William’ Kirk, Teffia Park, Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred on Friday, March 24 of Bill ‘William’ Kirk, Teffia Park, Longford Town, Longford. Beloved husband of the late Eva. Sadly missed by his loving family, sisters-in-law Sylvia Kirk and Ena McInerney, brother-in-law Harry McInerney, nieces Joan, Carol Ann, Barbara and Nuala (McInerney), nephews Harry, James and Robert Kirk, David and Peter Stirzaker, nieces & nephews in law, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon's Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, Longford, on Sunday, March 26 from 5pm until 7pm with prayers at 6pm. Removal on Monday, March 27 to arrive at St Mel's Cathedral for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan, at 3pm. House private please. No flowers, please, donations to Age Action Ireland.

Terence ‘Ted’ Doherty, Ballivor, Meath / Cavan
The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the team of St Camillus Nursing Centre, Killucan, Co Westmeath, on Friday, March 24 of Terence ‘Ted’ Doherty, Ballivor, Co Meath, formerly Arva, Co Cavan. Beloved husband of the late Mary Jo and dear father of Pat, Terence(deceased), Therese, Bernadette, Josephine and Terence. Ted will be sadly missed by his loving family, their spouses, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass in Church of St Columbanus, Ballivor, on Monday, March 27, at 11am. Burial to follow in Coronea Cemetery, Co Cavan, approximately 1.30pm. No flowers please. Donations, if desired, to St Camillus Nursing Centre, Killucan, Co Westmeath.

The death occurred, at Sligo General Hospital, on Saturday, March 25 of Peter Earley, Hillcrest Grove, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim. Formerly of Dowra Road, Drumshanbo and originally of Eden, Dowra, Co Leitrim.Deeply regretted by his wife Mary, daughter Carol, Son-in-law John, Grandaughter Anna, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Shivnan’s Funeral Home, Ballyfarnon, from 4 - 6pm on Sunday, March 26. Removal to St Patrick’s Church, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim, arriving at 7pm. Funeral mass at 12 noon on Monday March, 27 followed by burial in Drumshanbo New Cemetery. House private please.

Mary Flood, Bridge Street, Cavan Town, Cavan
The death occurred, peacefully at the Sheelin Nursing Home, Mountnugent, on Friday, March 24 of Mary Flood, formerly of Floods Florist, Bridge Street, Cavan. Predeceased by her brothers Jack and Bert. Sadly missed by her loving sisters Anna (USA), Olive Loughran (Kilmessan), Aggie Hedgley (Belfast), Nuala Lynch (Hollywell), Clare Hourican (Dublin) and Collette Lyons (Longford), brother Tommy (New York), nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandniece, great-grandnephew, relatives and friends.
Requiem Mass on Sunday, March 26 at 2.30pm in St Brigid’s Church, Killygarry, followed by interment in adjoining cemetery.


Valentine ‘Val’ Healy, Banagher, Killucan, Westmeath
The death occurred, peacefully at St Camillus Nursing Centre, Killucan, on Friday, March 24 of Valentine ‘Val’ Healy, Banagher, Killucan, Co Westmeath. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, neighbours and the excellent staff and fellow residents at St Camillus'. May Val Rest In Peace.
Funeral on Monday, March 27 at 10.30am in St Camillus Chapel followed by private cremation.


Mary McGrath (née Reynolds), 66 Cabra Park, Phibsboro, Dublin / Finea, Cavan
The death occurred, peacefully, at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford, on Saturday, March 25 of Mary McGrath (nee Reynolds) 66 Cabra Park, Phibsboro, Dublin 7 and late of Carrick, Finea, Co Cavan. Predeceased by her husband Joe. Sadly missed by her brothers Eoin and Michael, sisters Ann and Margaret, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Monday evening, March 27 from 4pm until 6pm. Removal arriving St Mary's Church Carrick at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 28 at 12 noon followed by private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan.
