Deaths in Longford - March 4, 2017

John Peter (JP) Corrigan, Lettergullion, Drumlish, Longford

The death occurred, peacefully at Mullingar Midland Regional Hospital, on Friday, March 3 of John Peter (JP) Corrigan, Lettergullion, Drumlish, Longford. Deeply regretted by his brother Jodie, his sisters Mary, Ann, Bernadette, Rose and Catherine, his nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at his residence from 2pm until 10pm on Saturday,  March 4 and on Sunday, March 5  from 3pm to 9pm. Removal on Monday, March 6 to St Patrick's Church, Ballinamuck, arriving for 12 noon funeral mass. Followed by burial afterwards in Kilmahon Cemetery.

Teresa Reynolds (née Reynolds), Tooman, Mohill, Leitrim / Longford
The death occurred, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, March 3 of Teresa Reynolds (née Reynolds), Tooman, Mohill, Leitrim / Longford. Teresa, beloved wife of the late Charlie and sister of the late Joe, Jim and Albert. Deeply regretted by her loving son Dermot, daughters Deirdre Matthews, Dympna Sorohan and Meave Dorrigan, daughter in law Monica, sons in law Gerry, Seamus and Albert, grandchildren Shane, Sinead, Aisling, Mark and Sophie, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives neighbours and friends. May Teresa Rest in Peace.
Reposing at her home on Saturday, March 4 from 6pm until 9pm and on Sunday, March 5 from 4pm until 7pm. House private at all other times. Removal on Monday morning, March 6 to arrive at St Michael`s Church Bornacoola for funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in Gortletteragh Cemetery.


Mary Masterson (née Keegan), Drumbar, Cavan
The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of her family and the staff at St Christopher's Hospice, Cavan, on Friday, March 3 of Mary Masterson (née Keegan), Drumbar, Cavan. Beloved wife of the late Joe and devoted mother of Seamus, Teresa, Kitty, Patricia, Mel and Brian. Sadly missed by her loving family, sister Rose Gormley. Gortletteragh, sons-in-law Michael, John and Barry, daughters-in-law Jenny, Paula and the late Marian, her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, all her relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan on Saturday, March 4 from 3.30pm until removal at 5.30pm to The Cathedral of Saints Patrick & Felim, Cavan, arriving at 6pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday, March 5 at 2pm followed by burial in Cullies Cemetery.
No flowers please, donations in lieu to St Christopher's Hospice c/o McMahon Funeral Directors, Farnham Road, Cavan or any family member.


Michael Masterson, Arva, Cavan
The death occurred at Cavan General Hospital on Friday, March 3 of Michael Masterson, Bruce, Arva, Cavan. Michael, beloved husband of Rosemarie and loving father to Fiona and Caroline. Grandad to Caolan. Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, brothers and extended family.
Reposing on Saturday, March 4 from 11am until 10pm. Removal on Sunday morning, March 5 to Coronea Church for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial in adjoining cemetery. House private on Sunday morning. Shuttle bus from Coronea Chapel on Saturday.

Pat McGovern, Gub, Glangevlin, Cavan / Blacklion, Cavan / Leitrim Town, Co Leitrim
The death occurred on Friday, February 17 of Pat McGovern, Chatteris, Cambridge and formerly Gub Cottage, Glangevlin, Co Cavan, peacefully in Chatteris, Cambridge.
Deeply missed by his loving wife Linda, daughter Katie, son Michael, brothers Hugh, England, Francie, Leitrim Village, Joe, Blacklion, sisters Mary, Blacklion, Marian, Blacklion and Kathleen Emmo, Blacklion, extended family and friends.
Memorial Mass at St Peter and St Paul's Church, Chatteris on Friday, March 3 at 3.30pm. Removal to St Patrick's Church, Glangevlin, Co Cavan on Sunday, March 5 for 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, March 6 at 12 noon with burial afterwards to adjoining Cemetery.


Caroline Moran, Drumrahill, Mohill, Leitrim
The death occurred on Thursday, March 2 of Caroline Moran, Drumrahill, Mohill, Leitrim, n the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff of Mullingar General Hospital. Surrounded by her heartbroken family, her father Gerry, sisters Tracey O'Neill (Fenagh), Sharon Moran (Maynooth) and brothers Gerry (Limerick) and Gavin (Dublin).
Reposing at the family residence in Drumrahill on Saturday, March 4 from 2pm and from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday, March 5. Removal to St Patrick's Church, Mohill to arrive at 7pm on Sunday. Funeral Mass at 11am on Monday, March 6 with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.


Christina ‘Chrissy’ Dale (née McCormack), Lynn Road, Mullingar, Westmeath / Ardagh, Co Longford
The death occurred on Thursday, March 2 of Christina ‘Chrissy’ Dale (nee McCormack) Lynn Road, Mullingar and late of Glen, Ardagh, Co Longford.
Predeceased by her husband Brian. She will be sadly missed by her sons Peter and Donal, daughters Annette (Gilhooley) and Yvonne (Whelan), sisters Theresa and May, brother Br. Augustin, (St Camillus, Killucan), sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in peace.
Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 4 at 10am in the Cathedral of Christ The King followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery.

The death occurred on Wednesday, March 1 of  John G Walsh, MRCVS , Royal Parade, Killaloe, Co Clare and Granard, Co Longford, peacefully, at Nenagh Hospital.
Predeceased by his wife Alice, baby Martina, brother Bennie, much loved father of David, Angela, Denis, Rosemary and Mary-Lou; deeply regretted by his sisters Bernadette (McLoughlin), Phyllis (Walsh), Mairead (Field), Ita (Sorohan) and Monica (Sheerin), his daughter-in-law Annemarie, sons-in-law Paul, Barry and Mike, grandchildren, great granddaughter, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 4 at 11am in  St Flannan's Church, Killaloe. Burial afterwards in Reilig Lua. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Clare Care, Killaloe. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Tommy Kellegher, Miskawn, Aughnasheelin, Leitrim
The death occurred on Wednesday, February 22, in Detroit, Michigan, USA, of Tommy Kellegher, Miskawn, Aughnasheelin, Leitrim. Sadly missed by his brother Liam, sisters Peggy McHugh (Longford) and Mary Nolan (Drumshanbo), sister-in-law, Carmel, brothers-in-law, Jim and Sean, nephews, nieces and a large circle of friends.
Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 4 at 12 noon in St Mary's Church, Aughnasheelin, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Annie ‘Nan’ Moore (née Mulligan), Williamstown, Finea, Co Westmeath
The death occurred on Tuesday, February 28 of Annie ‘Nan’ Moore nee (Mulligan) Williamstown, Finea, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, peacefully at her home.
Predeceased by her husband Peter. Sadly missed by her son Johnny, daughters Rosemary, Annmarie, and Christine, sisters-in-law Maggie Dermody, Mai Moore and Mary Mulligan, daughter-in-law Marian, sons-in-law Jason and Larry, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
Funeral Mass on Saturday March 4 at 2 pm in St Mary's Church, Finea. Interment afterwards in local cemetery.
