Deaths in Longford - March 3, 2017

Christina ‘Chrissy’ Dale (née McCormack), Lynn Road, Mullingar, Westmeath / Ardagh, Co Longford

The death occurred on Thursday, March 2 of Christina ‘Chrissy’ Dale (nee McCormack) Lynn Road, Mullingar and late of Glen, Ardagh, Co Longford.
Predeceased by her husband Brian. She will be sadly missed by her sons Peter and Donal, daughters Annette (Gilhooley) and Yvonne (Whelan), sisters Theresa and May, brother Br. Augustin, (St Camillus, Killucan), sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in peace.
Reposing at Shaw's Funeral Home on Friday, March 3 from 4pm until 6pm with removal thereafter to the Cathedral of Christ The King arriving at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 4 at 10am followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery.

John G Walshe, Royal Parade, Killaloe, Clare / Granard, Co Longford
The death occurred on Wednesday, March 1 of  John G Walshe, MRCVS , Royal Parade, Killaloe, Co Clare and Granard, Co Longford, peacefully, at Nenagh Hospital.
Predeceased by his wife Alice, baby Martina, brother Bennie, much loved father of David, Angela, Denis, Rosemary and Mary-Lou; deeply regretted by his sisters Bernadette (McLoughlin), Phyllis (Walsh), Mairead (Field), Ita (Sorohan) and Monica (Sheerin), his daughter-in-law Annemarie, sons-in-law Paul, Barry and Mike, grandchildren, great granddaughter, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Lynch's Funeral Home, Killaloe this Friday evening March 3 from 6pm with removal at 8pm to St Flannan's Church, Killaloe. Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 4 at 11am. Burial afterwards in Reilig Lua. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Clare Care, Killaloe. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

PJ ‘Patrick Joseph’ Bohan, Drumboy, Mohill, Co Leitrim
The death occurred on Monday, February 27 of PJ ‘Patrick Joseph’ Bohan, Drumboy, Mohill, Co Leitrim, peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Mullingar General Hospital.
Sadly missed by his sisters Philomena and Mary, brothers Michael and Phillip, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. RIP.
Funeral Mass at 11am on Friday, March 3 in St Patrick's Church, Mohill. Burial afterwards in Annaduff Cemetery.

Tommy Kellegher, Miskawn, Aughnasheelin, Leitrim
The death occurred on Wednesday, February 22, in Detroit, Michigan, USA, of Tommy Kellegher, Miskawn, Aughnasheelin, Leitrim. Sadly missed by his brother Liam, sisters Peggy McHugh (Longford) and Mary Nolan (Drumshanbo), sister-in-law, Carmel, brothers-in-law, Jim and Sean, nephews, nieces and a large circle of friends.
Reposing in St Mary's Church, Aughnasheelin on Friday, March 3 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 4 at 12 noon, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.


Robert Knox, Ardagh, Co Longford / Blackrock, Dublin
The death occurred on Tuesday, February 28 of Robert Knox, Ardagh, Co Longford and formerly of Springhill Avenue, Blackrock, Co Dublin, suddenly.
Beloved husband of Susan and loving son of Detta and the late Robin Knox. Sadly missed by his loving wife, mother, brothers Paul and Aidan, sisters Colette, Loretta and Pat, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephew, uncle, relatives and friends. Rest in peace.

The recent death has occurred of Paddy McCrann, Mount Ida, Cloone, Co Leitrim, peacefully at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford. May he rest in peace.

The death occurred on Friday, February 17 of Pat McGovern, Chatteris, Cambridge and formerly Gub Cottage, Glangevlin, Co Cavan, peacefully in Chatteris, Cambridge.
Deeply missed by his loving wife Linda, daughter Katie, son Michael, brothers Hugh, England, Francie, Leitrim Village, Joe, Blacklion, sisters Mary, Blacklion, Marian, Blacklion and Kathleen Emmo, Blacklion, extended family and friends.

Annie ‘Nan’ Moore (née Mulligan), Williamstown, Finea, Co Westmeath
The death occurred on Tuesday, February 28 of Annie ‘Nan’ Moore nee (Mulligan) Williamstown, Finea, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, peacefully at her home.
Predeceased by her husband Peter. Sadly missed by her son Johnny, daughters Rosemary, Annmarie, and Christine, sisters-in-law Maggie Dermody, Mai Moore and Mary Mulligan, daughter-in-law Marian, sons-in-law Jason and Larry, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at her home until removal on Friday evening March 3 arriving at St Mary's Church, Finea at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday March 4 at 2 pm. Interment afterwards in local cemetery.
